The Hunger Games.

Man this book is insanely popular because of the movie that is coming out on the 23rd.

Jaelyn read this back in 2008 and told me THEN how good it was. Ehhh. I'll pass. I mean she went on and on, and as each book came out I went and got them for her. No biggie. She loves to read.

She has asked me since it came out to read this book. Jaelyn is NOT one that will read a book again once she is finished with it. I can NOT tell you how many times she has read this series.

So with the movie coming out she begggggggggggggggggggged me to read it just as she did so many years ago.

I did.

This book is EXCELLENT!!

It has been a LONG time since I've stayed up until 2am reading a book. A VERY LONG TIME.

It is EXCELLENT.

Unique storyline that keeps you turning the pages.

READ IT NOW.

Thank me later.

It really is a very, very good story. I'm ready to start on the 2nd book in the series now.

Feels good to be back to reading...now if my house would clean itself lol.

When I Get To Where I'm Going by Cheryl Robinson

This book was very good. One of my blog reader/friends sent it to me because she loved it so much.

It started out slow to me but I think it was because I had already started reading some fablousness that is LadyLee lol.  Once it picked up it REALLY picked up and I couldn't put it down. You can click the link to read what the book is about. I will spoil it if I try to tell you about it lol. I always do.

Oh also for y'all who use Good Reads, there is a droid app called My Droid Book that syncs with your goodreads account. It's pretty cool so far!!

Here are some books that I read this year and never got around to reviewing lol. I have ONE that my friend mailed me that I'm not going to read until next week sooooo here we go:

I must say that I enjoyed them ALL except Getting To Happy. I don't know. I didn't even finish it.

My all time favorite book this year was 32 Candles.

My favorite Author this year was Jodi Picoult - Her work is so amazing to me.

32 Candles by Ernessa T. Carter

This has to be one of my favorite books to date. It was SOOOOOOO good. The characters were fresh and just funny. I found myself feeling SO sorry for the girl, but loving her at the same time. I couldn't put it down.

Ted Dekker Bride Collector

 

YEARS ago, I read Ted Dekker books and after one of he series, I did NOT like him anymore. I stopped reading them for YEARS. I saw this one in the airport in Miami earlier this year and made a mental not to check it out.

SO GLAD I DID! I could NOT put this one down! It was SO good!

Ok, this book:

The Lucky Shopping Manual

IS SUPERB!!! I love how it is broken down into sections: Skirts, T-shirts, Tops, Dresses...etc. It is FANTASTIC. I think, REGARDLESS of how much you ALREADY know about fashion, you might want to check out this book. It REALLY breaks down, figures and what flatters. If you have EVER had an issue with not knowing how to dress your body type, get this. Hopefully you will like it as much as I do lol. I love it!

I am really into my makeup and skin care. I finally have a skin care regimen that works for me, and I am STILL learning how to properly apply makeup lol. I practice a lot :-), anyway...I picked up this book:

Iman: The Beauty of Color and it is VERY good. Now I still LOVE Fine Beauty, by Sam Fine , but this one is great to have too! It has some great tips in it.

COME ON PEOPLE, ON THE PATH FROM VICTIMS TO VICTORS

I am a huge Bill Cosby fan. I have been for a long, long time. I was so excited to see his new book, COME ON PEOPLE.....ON THE PATH FROM VICTIMS TO VICTORS.

Cosby has made it his mission to uplift Black America, by showing us the issues that we often times want to sweep under the rug, and letting us know the OBVIOUS, change begins with US. No matter what color you are. There are a few people that I seriously wish I could read this book to!!! Address the problems, and stop avoiding them.

I read this book, and immediately knew it was something that EVERYONE needs to read. Not just those in the black community.

There is so much I can say about this book, but I will suggest you get your own copy and check it out.  Let me know what you think.
