Kayla update...

Hey guys thank you so much for all your kind words. Y'all really rock.

Kayla is doing so well. Her surgery was a complete success. They removed everything and expect her to be 110%.

She is home and sleeping like a baby, not in any pain at all.

She is excited because she can smell lol. When she was in recovery the first thing she said was I can smell the oil in your hair lol.

Thank you guys for everything. Hopefully life will be back to normal soon lol.

 

Kayla is having surgery today. Keep her in your prayers.

Y'all know if I ever just kinda vanish, something is going on.

By the time you guys read this Kayla will be well into her surgery.

Earlier this year Kayla KEPT getting sick. I thought she kept catching a cold. Just treated her at home. Nothing out of the ordinary. No red flags.

A month or so passed and she was still all congested. Ok. I took her to the dr and they said she had a sinus infection and gave her antiobiotics. Cool. Again, NO RED FLAGS.

Another month or so went by and she was STILL stuffy and congested. Took her BACK to the dr and they put her on steroids, they said something and I honestly can't remember what it was, but she took the medicine as directed. Again. No red flags.

Well a few weeks later after she finished all her meds, she was STILL stuffy and congested. I told Tony maybe she has some kind of allergies. So we took her to have an allergy test done. That test showed something (I can't really remember, we have seen so many doctors that a LOT of it just runs together) and this dr sent us to an ENT. Ok cool.

The ENT couldn't see the way he needed to so he sent us to have a MRI/CAT scan done.

That brings us to today.

The black part that you see is air. It's supposed to be air (black) on both sides. The white that you see is a mass/blockage that is pressing against her eye, optic nerve and the top part of her brain. They have to go in and take all of that white part out. If you look at some of her pictures you can see her right eye kinda protrudes out more than her left. All of this is on the right side of her face.

A few things to note:

• She isn't in ANY pain.
• She can't smell unless its something REALLY, REALLY strong and I mean REALLY strong.
• She does have frequent headaches.
• Her vision is fine. EVERY NOW AND THEN things get a LITTLE blurry but nothing to be concerned about.
• She is STILL getting on my nerves and being a typical teenager sooooo, yeah she straight lol

When the dr first showed me the scans I was floored. I think I kinda blacked out because I wasn't expecting that. At all. I don't know what I was expecting, but this certainly wasn't it.

I instantly did what I know to do. Pray. Then I called Tony and told him what was going on. We left and had lunch at Chick fila.

A couple days later I had a total melt down. When I say total, I mean TOTAL. It's the momma in me. My child isn't 100% and that caused me GREAT concern. I was actually afraid.

I called up my prayer peeps, we prayed and I meannnnnnnnnnnnnnnn we prayeddddddddddddddddd. When we went to see the specalist, it felt like God had wrapped me in his arms. I had peace, Kayla was being goofy and the dr's explained EVERYTHING to me. He was wonderful. He explained it to me where it made sense. He remembered I'm just a mom who wants her kid healthy. I loved that.

I think I was more afraid of the unknown. Once I talked to the dr and actually understood the process of what was going to happen, the risks, the success rate and how to take care of her after the surgery I was GOOD...We left and had lunch at Chick Fila lol

So we are expecting the surgery to go well and as planned and for Kayla to have a full and speedy recovery and to start 2014 Healthy and Happy.

A LOT of you have been reading my blog since I started WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY back in 2005. You all have watched my children grow up. Y'all have watched my family go through some good and some not so good times. I wanted to let you all know what was going on with this middle child of mine :)

I have seen sequin blazer/jackets everywhere.

But of COURSE I needed my own, that was a bit different from the rest.

I had a dinner to attend and I figured why not go and SPARKLE. I made this jacket WAY back in August/September and I'm just now wearing it. I think I posted it on Instagram when I first made it. Talk about excited lol

Blurry unexpected shot (Thanks to Jaelyn) but I love it.  I was told this was a casual dinner so I made my sequin jacket a LITTLE more casual by pairing it with some winter white fine wale cordoury pants that I purchased a few weeks ago. Let me add here, this is why I like making my pants. I saw these and love the fit, the LENGTH however is another story. They were FINE in the store...without heels lol. I still wore them and still love them.

 I went for a pretty bold and chunky statement necklace but kept my earrings and shoes classic and simple. I enjoyed wearing this and got a lot of compliments on it :)

 

My body is changing and I need to start making muslins for ALL my stuff. NORMALLY I don't have to. Something strange is happening lol.

 

For those of you who sew here is a review:

 

New Look 6231

Pattern Description: Misses skirt has a side split. Skirt and pants have a side zipper. Jacket with or without collar can be made with gathered peplum or pleated peplum both with front hook & eye closures.

Pattern Sizing: 8-18 I cut the 14


Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

Were the instructions easy to follow? This pattern has great instructions.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the style of this pattern.


Fabric Used: sequin


Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I didn't make a muslin first so when I tried it on the shoulders were too wide. I ended up re-cutting it and taking almost an inch off. When Erica B. made it she said the same thing so I knew I wasn't crazy.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I do plan on making this one again. Next time I will add some length to the body. I don't like where the waist of this hits on me. I do highly recommend it.

Conclusion:   Great pattern. Pick it up add it to your stash!

Dressing the teens! New Look 6723 & McCall's 6789

I love when my girls ask me to make things for them.

Jaelyn has had this floral print fabric for almost TWO YEARS. She went fabric shopping with me and saw it and fell in love. We were waiting on the perfect pattern.

This dress truly fits the bill. We attended a holiday party and the girls didn't want "special" occassion dresses. They wanted a dress they could wear again and again.

I love how both of my girls have their own sense of style.

I was on a fabric shopping trip earlier this year (I believe) and ran across these two Marc Jacobs fabrics.

I knew one of the girls would love them so as soon as the lady that had them finished up, I grabbed what was left.

Kayla fell in love.

Her dress is actually the same pattern I made here and here. I find it quite amazing that the EXACT same pattern can work for both a teenager and an adult. Fabric choice, styling and accessories kept her looking like a teen and me looking like an adult, and not a teeny bopper.

(Kayla has horrible posture, any tips? I correct her so much lol. I'm open to suggestions)

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

McCall's 6789 (Jaelyn's Dress)

Pattern Description: Fitted, lined dress has neck band, yokes, seam detail, piping, peplum, stitched hem and invisible back zipper.

Pattern Sizing: 8-16
I cut the 8 on top and graded out to a 12 on bottom.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I actually followed these step by step and it's VERY well drafted. It's 18 pieces plus lining but it goes together very well.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? My daughter loved the style of this dress.


Fabric Used: Cotton sateen


Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: Jaelyn is small on top and has a booty so I cut the 8 based on her breast measurement and graded out to a 12 at the hips. I did a 1/2 FBA and had to make a sway back adjustment for her. This is the first time I've had to make ANY alterations to her patterns but I did a muslin first and I'm glad I did.

She also didn't like how wide the neck facing was so instead of using that I used bias tape around the neck line and to tie it all in I also used it around the armholes. She loved that much better.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This is a great pattern if you like this style. I doubt if she will want this one again. I highly recommend it.

Conclusion:  Great pattern. She looked great wearing it and got lots of compliments.

Holiday Dress 2013...New Look 6723

Each year I make myself a birthday dress and a holiday dress. This year I didn't make a birthday dress because I went to LA. I didn't really have the time.

I think about these two dresses ALL YEAR LONG lol.

After my last fancy dress post about my hair vs dress

I wondered if I would even consider doing something different with my hair and it didn't even cross my mind lol. I got my hair cut to wear it in the style it was cut in...with everything so that's exactly what I did.

Inspiration:

I think this picture of Beyonce is from 2009. I fell in LOVE with this dress when she wore it and saved the picture. I absolutely adore the fabric. I'm not sure of the original source of this picture.

 

Last year I believe I saw this picture and LOVED this look on Selena Gomez.Alice & Olivia Lillyanne Puff Mini Dress


Then I saw this dress from Alice & Olivia and that pretty much sealed the deal.

I was fabric shopping with my mom when I saw this fabric and just about had a fit lol

My mind INSTANTLY went to the Beyonce dress. I KNEW I didn't want anything strapless. The other two dresses just confirmed the colors I was going to use lol.

Let me tell you how much I ADORE my dress. It was perfect for the evening.

It was cold enoug to pull out my "mank" coat. I only get to wear it a couple times a year but when I do wear it? HONEY I WEAR IT.

Y'all will have to excuse the white balance on these pictures. I didn't think to change it before I gave Kayla my camera.

I decided on a midi-length dress because I am totally in love with it and it's so on trend right now.

It's cold, the venue is ALWAYS cold so I didn't want to go strapless or have to fuss with a sweater or shawl, I wanted my dress to be seen. I didn't work on it so hard to hide it :)

I kept my accessories super simple. Didn't need my accessories to out shine my dress.

I also went fairly simple on the shoes. They are Fergie Podium. This has to be the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever worn. I was on my feet all night and I have not one complaint.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This is my favorite pattern for a fit and flare dress. I absolutely LOVE it.


Fabric Used: Metallic Brocade


Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will make this one again and again and again. I love it. I HIGHLY recommend this pattern if you like this style dress.

 

Conclusion:Great pattern. Go pick it up if you like this style.

Modest is my style.

I was talking to a friend the other day and we started talking about clothing.

In today's society EVERYTHING is short and tight and just overly revealing.

I believe you can be sexy, trendy and fashionable without being half naked.

More and more women (not all) leave NOTHING to the imagination.  N O T H I N G.

IMO, there is a difference between something being SUPER tight and something fitting very well.

Some have said that I feel this way because I don't "have the body to show it off". I don't think so. I don't want to walk around with MY HUSBANDS BODY ON DISPLAY. I believe what the Bible says when it speaks of your body not being your own. But if that is what YOU want to do, then by all means, go ahead. It's just not MY thing.

That doesn't mean I'm going to walk around wrapped in a big blanket, nah. I just know I don't have to wear something super short and super tight to look cute.

This is MY opinion.

Between me talking with my friend and some of y'all emailing me and asking why I wouldn't show my mid-section when I posted this entry

kinda got the wheels turning. No I don't have stretch marks, I'm not ashamed of my body or anything like that it's just NOT me. But this is coming from someone who still says yes & no ma'am/sir, please & thank you and will NOT address a grown person by JUST their first name. I almost always put a handle on it.

Jaelyn can find clothing in stores pretty easy. Kayla on the other hand can not, she is tall and EVERYTHING is supershort. Now, I don't mind short dresses in the proper setting, but we were looking for her a dress for a church function and she can't wear over half of the stuff that is in stores to church. Even with leggings/tights if it's supposed to be a DRESS, it needs to be a dress. A lot of the dresses that she DOES buy she has to wear with leggings OR a pencil skirt. She wears them as tops lol. Yes she is THAT tall lol.

I ended up making her a dress and she loves it lol

Love the skin I'm in...My skincare routine.

Soooo wayyyyyyy back HERE

I mentioned that I would tell y'all what I was using on my skin. I've NEVER been the soap/water type gal. NERP lol. I have to literally take care of my skin and make sure I'm drinking water. If I EVER don't drink enough I will break out. I no longer drink soda and I hardly drink juice. I DO love coffee and tea but all day everyday I drink tons of water.

LISTEN. Every year it seems I have to switch up my skincare. Something happens. I will develop a rash, the product will stop working SOMETHING and I will change it up. The last thing I was using was Rx for Brown Skin and LOVED it until it started breaking me out. It took me a while to find something new and based on some reviews I started using Aveeno Active Naturals Positively Radiant.

Daily Scrub - Now this says skin brightening, but with me what I've found is that is lightens the dark spots that I've had. More successfully than ANYTHING I have ever used. Even though this is a DAILY scrub, I don't use it daily. It's too harsh on MY skin. Twice a week at most. It just depends on how icky my face feels.

Cleanser - This I use daily. Sometimes twice a day. I wear a night cream and I make sure to wipe that off in the mornings.

Cleansing Pads - If I don't use the above cleanser, I use these. They are simple and easy lol

Moisturizer - I use this DAILY. Please moisturize your face. PLEASE USE SPF. EVERYDAY.

 

 

Night Cream - Let me tell y'all how amazing this stuff is. My skin is SO soft when I wake up. Like SUPER SOFT. Let me also tell you about the time Tony used this as LOTION O_O He hasn't touched it since lol

 

I also invested in a Clarosonic. 

I've tried ALL the more in-expensive brands and they all failed me lol. When I got this one? I KNEW it's what I should have had the entire time. I love that you can change out the brush heads. That allows my daughters to use it also.

I did NOT like the cleanser that came with it so I use my own.

I have only had this for about a month now and I can truly say I see what all the hype is about.

OH and I don't wear makeup daily but when I do wear it my favorite makeup(eye) remover is by Simple: This stuff is great and doesn't burn my eyes. I love the liquid OR the pads. You can't go wrong with either one.

Ok thats IT lol.

Midi-Madness in BLUE!

Midi ANYTHING is all the rage. I'm in love. I've made a few of these already that I need to wear lol.

I made this skirt back in October and I actually forgot I had it lol. Didn't use a pattern just my measurements. I used taffeta.

I fell in love with this sweater while I was in LA and had to have it. I seem to always HAVE to have something huh? lol

 

This sweater is super thick and it didn't look right tucked, so I kinda made it hi-low. I folded it and tacked it down in the correct places. It gives me a cropped look without showing my mid-section which I will NEVER do.

Seems like the wind doesn't blow until I take pictures lol

 

 

 

Jaelyn was my photographer today and she had me ROLLING. I really need to start showing y'all the out-takes they are hilarious lol

Being your own boss...

 

I saw this quote on instagram a few weeks ago and it has truly stuck with me.

Having my own business and being my own boss is THE BOMB. Seriously, but as the quote states, it truly is a way of life.

I know some people think that having your own business, setting your own hours and all that stuff is wonderful and it is, but there is this discipline that goes along with that.

My brain hardly EVER turns off. I'm constantly working, but I enjoy what I do so it doesn't feel like work.

The best thing I could have EVER done was hire an accountant. I mean really. The only thing I don't like about all of this is all the paperwork that goes along with it. I'm very organized, I always have been but this takes it to a WHOLE NOTHER LEVEL. Yes, I said whole nother.

I don't do a whole lot of marketing. Most of my business comes from word of mouth. I work hard to  make sure what is coming out of peoples mouths is nothing but praise. Sure, there have been a couple of people who haven't been happy and that's fine. You truly can't please everyone and you also have to consider the source.

Every person that contacts me doesn't automatically become my client. NERP. When it comes to custom sewing, I just won't make any ole thing just to make some money. NERP. It's not about that for me (although the money is very good) I want you to look good in what you have made. It's my name and reputation on the line.

Even doing my photography, I don't accept every job. Some things I just don't want to be a part of or associated with. Not gonna happen.

My spa products? I don't go to just any event and set up my products. NOPE.

It's not hard being a business owner. It takes discipline and dedication. Most of the time you are the ONLY person doing everything. Thankfully I have a team of people who always help.

I couldn't do any thing that I do without God and my family. When I get SUPER busy they always step in. They see what needs to be done and they just do it. I'm blessed.

I have to balance my time. That can be hard sometimes but I get it done. I block off days where I don't work or even look at my work email, it's strictly about my family it works and it works well.

Don't think just because I mainly work from home (for now) that I have it easy.  Not really lol. I still have a "house" to run. Since I'm organized AND I have a great support system normally everything runs pretty smoothly.

You wouldn't know it looking at my house today because everything is in shambles lol. The entire family has been BUSY and we ALL took a few days off lol.

That's it. Just had that on my mind :)

Winter White Cape...Vogue 8959

When I told you guys I've been on a "winter white" kick, I truly meant it.

I didn't jump on the cape bandwagon last year but I sure got mine in this year lol

I plan on wearing mine to DEATH. You hear me?

Since I'm wearing this to church I wanted to wear a skirt with it. I made a pencil skirt using the same fabric. This fabric is FABULOUS. I'm always skeptical about purchasing fabrics that are 100% wool. I almost always buy a wool blend. This fabric is a wool felt. I've never worked with it before but it was a dream and it is SUPER warm. I love it. I kept rubbing on my skirt during church lol.

NEXT time you see me in this I want to wear it with all black everything lol. I may put it back on in a couple of days lol. I LOVE it!

The exposure on this picture is ALL wrong but I love it. I told Kayla her mistake is my favorite picture:

I hardly ever show the inside of my clothes. I don't know why because the inside always looks as good as the outside lol. I let my photograher take my pictures so she can get practice and I love this lining so I figured why not...

The inside is equally as fabulous as the outside. I have had this fabric for the longest. I think I got it from Vogue Fabrics when I was in Chicago a few years back. I love the unexpected color when you open the cape up.

I kept my accessories SUPER simple. This outfit was a perfect time to wear my hat. I've had it over a year and this was my first time wearing it. When I pulled out my winter items I promised myself I would wear it this year. I pulled out my favorite bag, and even though the prints don't match I still love them together. I added a little texture to my look with my nude fishnet tights. Works for me!

My shoes I LOVE. They are BCBG Maxazria Laleh

I mean come on. Y'all know I LOVE shoes but something is happening to me lol. I'm loving them even more. ACK!

Let's not even talk about how much I'm loving gold right now lol.

Vogue 8959

Pattern Description: Loose-fitting, lined cape has collar, side front and back seams, side front openings, front button closing, and narrow hem.

Pattern Sizing: XS-M

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions were very easy to follow. I didn't need them but I followed them for the sake of this review.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved this style. So on trend right now.


Fabric Used: Wool Felt (This was my first time working with this and it feels AMAZING)


Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I orginally cut view B because I loved that length while looking at the pattern. I didn't realize it would be so long on me. It stopped right over my knee and that was too long. I cut around 6 inches off so that it hit mid thigh. I loved that MUCH better on me. I also didn't add button holes. I was going to use a gold closure, but decided not to add anything.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I don't know if I'll make this again but I love it and I HIGHLY recommend this pattern. It was an easy sew project. That is exactly what I needed.

Conclusion: Great pattern, very well drafted. Pick it up if you like this style.

They didn't want to help at all. Yes,  I had all the books, I had been on google and pattern review but nothing was clicking. Trust me when I say I LOOKED everywhere before I reached out for help. Anyway, I still didn't get it. I emailed Tany and asked her if she could help me understand it.

She did a mock up of what I was having trouble with, just on a mini scale so I could actually "see" it. She took pictures and did a step by step tutorial for me. That changed me. She lives sooooooooooooooooooooo far away but took time to help little ole me. She explained it so well that I truly understood. I was so happy and thankful.

That is part of the reason why I love to help the way I do. Someone took time to help me. I'll never treat a person the way I was treated when I reached out for help.

We kept in touch while she was not blogging and it was just good to hear from her and see pictures of her adorable son. I'm SO glad she is back to sewing and blogging!!

Congrats Jaelyn...College Bound.

Jaelyn has recieved THREE full scholarships to THREE different universities.

To say that we are proud of her is a huge understatement.

She has worked hard, studied and done very well with her testing.

This isn't something that JUST happened her Senior year.

As a family we have prepared. Tutors, workshops, workbooks, weekend classes, afterschool classes. Whatever she needed to reach this goal, we've given it to her. We do the same for all three of our children.

She has made her decision on what school she will attend and those close to us already know. I may not ever make a formal announcement on my blog for privacy concerns (so if you know PLEASE don't post it here lol)  but just know that we are SUPER proud.

I'm having a real proud momma moment here lol, but don't get it twisted lol. THERE WERE TIMES WHEN I COULD HAVE JUST WHEWWWWWWWWWWWWWW lol The child worked a NERVE YA HERE ME LOL.

Encourage your kids. LISTEN TO YOUR KIDS, sometimes they really do know what they are talking about lol.

Soooooo I was gone somewhere and I had literally been gone ALL DAY LONG. I was exhausted lol. Came home and Tony had put up christmas lights EVERYWHERE lol. They were even across my bed lol. It was so funny. Put a huge smile on my face lol. With his ghetto bootleg self lol

Corn and Cheese Chowder

Another soup that I cooked while at Mimi's house. Man. Look. This was so good. I couldn't wait to get back home and cook it lol. I was SHOCKED that my kids loved it.

We've been on a soup kick lately. I didn't want the turkey to go to waste so of course I made turkey soup.

I've been on green smoothies though. I kinda don't want any food. Also know that I made this way before Thanksgiving lol. Just getting around to posting it lol

As always, make it and thank me later lol

Ingredients

• 4 Tablespoons 1/2 Stick Butter
• 1 whole Onion, Chopped
• 3 slices Bacon, Cut Into Pieces
• 3 whole Bell Peppers, Finely Diced (red, Yellow, Orange)
• 5 ears Corn, Kernels Sliced Off
• 1/4 cup All-purpose Flour
• 3 cups Chicken Stock Or Broth
• 2 cups Half-and-half
• 1 cup (heaping) Grated Monterey Jack
• 1 cup (heaping) Pepper Jack
• 1/3 cup Sliced Green Onions
• Bread Bowls

Preparation Instructions

In a large pot, melt butter over medium-high heat. Cook onions for a couple of minutes. Add bacon and cook for another minute or so, then add diced bell peppers and cook for a couple of minutes. Finally, add corn and cook for a minute.

Sprinkle flour evenly over the top and stir to combine. Pour in broth and stir well. Allow this to thicken for 3 or 4 minutes, then reduce heat to low. Stir in half-and-half, then cover and allow to simmer/thicken for 15 minutes or so.

Stir in cheeses and green onions. When cheese is melted and the soup is hot, check seasonings. Add salt and pepper as needed.

I picked up this sweater knit a while back and instantly knew what I would make with it.

This is one of the outfits I wore in LA (except the shoes, I wore flats the entire time) and I actually think it's what I flew home in. Talk about comfy!

The cardigan compliments the leggings so nicely. Don't you agree? lol

Kayla caught me mid laugh . This is one of my favorite pictures lol.

Not too much to say about this one. I don't even think I'll review. Both patterns are super old. I actually think the Cardigan is OOP. I don't even remember where I was going when I wore this but I kept my accessories pretty simple.

When you find the PERFECT fabric!

Every now and then you run across a fabric that LITERALLY makes your heart stop. Of course what makes MY heart stop and YOUR heart stop can be two totally different things, but honey let me tell you about THIS fabric:

The glory that is metallic, houndstooth AND a double knit.

It's not the exact same but it sure is where my mind went lol

Little Black Dress...Vogue 1020

 

There is nothing better than a LBD!

I made this dress to wear to dinner while we were in LA (seems like SO long ago lol) and I didn't get a chance to wear it so I couldn't WAIT to wear it once I got home.

The ruching on this is AWESOME!!! This pattern is so old but I already want another dress.

Ruching hides a multitude of sins lol. This dress can be flattering on so many different body types, but I LOVE the way it flatters me.

Black can be tough to photograph but this one shows really good detail.

I wanted to keep this look as classic as possible. I decided on a cluster pearl necklace, red bag that only held my ipad, lipstick and my license lol, and my favorite black lace shoes. I didn't get a close up shot but I found this picture online

They are super old but I still love them.

 

 For those of you who sew here is a review:

 

Pattern Description: Close fitting dress with side zipper.

Pattern Sizing: 14-20

I cut the 14 and it FITS lol. When this says close fitting, it truly means it.


Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't follow the instructions but they do look very easy.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the style of this dress.

Fabric Used: Ponte knit


Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I didn't add a zipper. I didn't see a need for it.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This dress is OOP, if you have it in your collection take it out and sew it up. I highly recommend this and I plan on making another one.

Conclusion: Great dress! I enjoyed making it and wearing it.

When your bestfriend is your husband...

I know a LOT of people who don't agree that your husband can be your bestie lol.

Below are a FEW reasons I just love Tony being my bestie...

When your bestfriend is your husband:

1. You can take him fabric shopping and he will carry AND pay for all your fabric.
2. You can buy something that needs to be assembled and he will do it .
3. You can go run errands and he can drive and it doesn't matter because he is on your car insurance policy.
4. You can walk around in your favorite pj's that are as old as your eldest child and he still calls you sexy.
5. You can ugly cry on him and he doesn't talk about how swollen your face is or all the snot you left on his shirt.
6. You can talk to him about what's going on in the fashion world knowing he has NO clue what you are talking about only to come back to you later with some knowledge that Mr. Google told him about.
7. You can tell him where it hurts and he will kiss it and make it better.
8. You can tell him not to eat the last piece of cake and when he does anyway he buys you a WHOLE cake to make up for it.
9. You can trust him to tell you the truth even when you don't like it and it's not something you want to hear. Ever.
10. You can ask him to tell the kids "no" so he can be the bad guy for a change.

These are just a FEW reasons Tony being my best friend is the greatest lol

Oldie but goodie, still in love with winter white!

This dress is SO OLD, but still getting lots of love. I first made it back in 2011. 

I pulled it out again this summer (can't remember if I posted this picture or not lol)

Sherried Tomato Soup

Sherried Tomato Soup

Ingredients

• 6 Tablespoons Melted Butter
• 1 whole Medium Onion, Diced
• 1 bottle (46 Oz.) Tomato Juice
• 2 cans (14 Oz. Cans) Diced Tomatoes
• 1 Tablespoon (up To 3 Tablespoons) Chicken Base
• 3 Tablespoons (up To 6 Tablespoons) Sugar
• 1 pinch Salt
• Black Pepper To Taste
• 1 cup Cooking Sherry
• 1-1/2 cup Heavy Cream
• Chopped Fresh Parsley
• Chopped Fresh Basil

Preparation Instructions

Sauté diced onions in butter until translucent. Then add canned tomatoes, tomato juice, chicken base, sugar, pinch of salt, black pepper and stir. Bring to a near boil, then turn off heat. Add in sherry and cream and stir. Add in parsley and basil to taste.

Olivia Pope/ Salvatore Ferragamo Inspired Wrap Coat. Burda 7275

I've watched Scandal since the very first episode. Like every other woman in the world I LOVE everything that "Olivia Pope" wears.

I KNEW I had to have one. Not a replica, just an inspired version.

It's what dreams are made of lol.

I didn't want a wool coat. I knew I wouldn't get a whole lot of wear out of it in this climate so I decided to use this ivory pinwale curduroy that I have had in my stash for a while. It's lightweight enough to actually wear as a top but it's still light weight enough to layer it if I need/ want to.

Instead of leaving the edges raw like the pattern suggests, I decided to use a black bias tape to finish off the edges. I love the contrast. I wanted to use leather but didn't have enough to make my own bias tape.

I also didn't want mine as long. Originally this hit me right at my knee. I cut more than six inches off of the length and it's MUCH more flattering on me.

I used frech seams on everything except the neckline and the pockets.

I love that I can dress this up or make it super casual. It's a winner in my book!

 

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

Burda 7275

 

Pattern Description: Loose fitting coats, simply to be thrown on. A sewn with lapped seams and broad, nicely flowing collar. B with hood and fur braid.

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't need the instructions on this but they are very clear.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I finished it off with bias tape instead of leaving the edges raw. I shortened it a little over 6 inches. The original coat length is right at my knee.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I MIGHT make this one again, not sure yet :)

Conclusion: 
Great pattern, pretty easy to put together. Grab it if you like this style.

 

Hump Day Ramblings

1. Ever wonder, "what's the point"?
2. Finally a little chill in the air. YAY.

Winter White & Gold...Vogue 8926

There is NOTHING like a good dose of inspiration.

I haven't had time to just sit and look at all the pictures on read my fashion blogs, but I took a lazy day and did just that. Boy was I glad.

I'm currently on a "winter white" kick (even though it's not actually winter yet) and this outfit was PERFECT.

Metallic anything is so hot right now and I've had this fabric that has literally been calling my name. I HAD to go ahead and sew it up.

I loved this entire look, so I decided to recreate it.

Donna Karan Metallic Pull-On Skirt on SALE for $547.00

I didn't want a jacket so I decided to make this loose fitting wrap top. I had a suede like fabric in my stash and knew it would be perfect. 

I have to teach my photographer about white balance lol. Kayla is doing a great job though. She loves taking pictures :)

This gold skirt is seriously all in your face, look at me now.

Here is a close up of the skirt fabric. It's a faux leather/reptile coated twill. That's how "I" am going to describe it.

The skirt was the focus of my entire look so I kept everything else very simple. I still needed a little bling though :)

I decided on these little booties that I picked up way earlier in the summer. I couldn't wait to wear them. I'm LOVING booties right now. I actually forgot I had this clutch and ran across it looking for another bag. SCORE!

Pattern Description:  Loose-fitting, wrap top has front extending into collar, and attached tie ends. A: narrow hem. B and C: wrong side will show on single-layer collar and front opening, and purchased bias tape for trim.

 

I made view B but decided to use the facings from view A.

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? The instructions are ok until you get to the collar/neck. It may have been me but it confused me. I ended up putting them down and doing it my own way.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I liked the style of this pattern, I didn't like the instructions for the collar/neckline.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I doubt if I make this again. I do recommend it but be careful with the collar/neckline instructions. They confused me.

It's sad but I've just come to the realization that just because you're kind, doesn't mean that you're a good person. You see when I see a person doing nice things I use to automatically place them in a cool person box, but that shouldn't have been the case. You have to examine a persons character. Is this person being nice to you because there's a motive behind it? Do they know you're giving and kind, so they are being (fake) kind to get what they can get from you? <---I can't tell you how many times I've been through this. Just this past January I had to cut off someone that has been in my life for over 12 years. It was a hard, hard thing to do but I was tired of being used. I'm a giver. Its just who I am. Anyone that knows me will tell you that I give. I give my time, I give my talent. I give. I enjoy it, until I feel like I"m being used. 

What these people don't know is when a person is doing something for you from their heart, and you are being the user, you may feel like they are a sucker, but God is like more blessing to my faithful giver. The more I read my bible the more I see the phrase about casting your pearls upon swine. It's really funny to me because when your a user you are constantly moving backwards that's why they NEVER get ahead.<---I started to see this in the lives of those who were using me. I NEVER wish anything bad on anyone, but I started to see some really not so good stuff. I had to put my feelings aside and pray. 

Be kind with no intentions of getting anything back. Do it because you love to give a helping hand. Do it because you'd want someone to do the same for your mom, dad or anyone you love if they were in need and you weren't there to help. They could have a flat tire in the middle of nowhere. Wouldn't it be nice if someone just stopped to help them change it. Do it because God would do it. I'm a witness, don't worry if you'll get something back. Plus most times the person you helped isn't where your blessing comes from. Furthermore, YOU will  have peace in your heart that you're truly a genuine giver with no expectations!<---I've learned how to continue to give, without being used and suprisingly enough I give even more now. It seems like I've had to let go of some "personal" relationships and put my feelings aside and just do it from my heart. I think before I was doing it for the person and expecting them to give to me in the same way. Now I'm not saying be a dummy and I'm not saying "I" was being a dummy but I've had to learn some hard hard lessons when it comes to friendships/giving.

There is so much inspiration. It's everywhere you look.

I look at fashion a LOT. Magazines, pinterest, blogs it's everywhere.  I have to be mindful to always be ME. My character doesn't change. If it does, I hope its for the best.

When it comes to fashion and style I have to remain true to who I am, even though I'm changing.  I mentioned here that my trip to NY in August really caused me to see fashion and style in a whole new light. If you go through my album from this year you can see the change happen right before you eyes. I absolutely LOVE the new direction I've been taking and I'm having a good time with it all.

Back to the post though lol. It doesn't take a whole lot to pick up on what others do. ESPECIALLY  when you are looking at it daily. Inspiration is fine, but totally copying someone isn't. Just be you, but really I'm saying JUST BE ME. 

 

 I LOVE being inspired by someone or something. Taking something that someone else has made or purchased and I'll buy or make the same thing but it has a totally different look. THAT is inspiration. Even if I wear it the exact same way, my personality makes it different. I'm still me, I've just been inspired.

What I don't want to do is turn into the people I see (blogs, magazines, instagram, pinterest) everyday. I want to always remain ME. I want to be true to who I am and not let who/what I see change me into WHAT I see. Does that make sense? My logic may be a little different but I'm sure you get what I'm saying.

I've followed fashion bloggers for a LONG time then suddenly they look like another fashion blogger. EXACTLY like them. They talk/write the same, do everything the same. They have taken on the other persons personality. I stopped following them because they weren't who they used to be.

No matter what, I want to ALWAYS be Adrienne.

Leather T-Shirt & Fitted Jeans. New Look 6230

I've been seeing these leather t-shirts everywhere. Did I say I've been seeing them EVERYWHERE. I wanted one too lol.

This look is a little different for me. I saw a quote earlier this week that said something close to, if you never try it you will never know. Look for a LOT of new things from me. Woohoo. Excited lol I remember when I wouldn't wear a strapless dress lol then one day I TRIED IT lol

When I was pulling this look together I kept thinking this is soooooooooo different for me but I'm going to go for it and have fun with it!

 I wanted to more of a casual look. Didn't want to dress up the t-shirt too much so I kept it simple with skinny jeans and my new favorite shoes.

I didn't wear many accessories. Just a sparkly statement necklace, a couple of bangles and my favorite stud earrings.

Most of all I had FUN wearing it and with my photographer ;)

New Look 6230

Pattern Description: Knit baseball shirt has feminine fit, can be made with banded round or V-neck & 3/4 or long sleeves.

Pattern Sizing: 4-16 I cut the 10

Were the instructions easy to follow? They are SUPER easy.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the style of this shirt.


Fabric Used: leather like fabric on the front and ponte knit on the back and sleeves.


Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Oh yes. I'm DEF making this one again. I HIGHLY recommend it if you like this style shirt.

Conclusion:  Great pattern and very well drafted. Pick it up and add it to your collection!

 

 

Sparkle & Wine. McCall's 6173 & 6844

This is one of the outfits I took with me to LA last week (man has it really been a week?) I wore it with flats there because I was NOT about to take on the town in heels. NOT ME. I had a quick errand to run and decided to put this on. I LOVE THIS LOOK.

When I first considered making sequin leggins, I thought I wanted them like true leggins. I decided I wanted these a little more loose. I'm so glad I went in that direction. They look better on me not fitted all the way to the ankle.

I kept my accessories pretty simple with an animal print necklace,sparkly bracelet and simple gold/diamond studs.My shoes I've had for a while and I'm just now getting a chance to wear them. They will get MUCH wear when it warms up again lol.

For those of you who sew, here is a review of the cardigan. The leggings are so simple. Just buy the pattern lol. NO need to review them.

McCall's 6844 and McCall's 6173 Leggings

Pattern Description: Close-fitting cardigans (do not meet at center front) have collar extending into front band, and narrow hem. A and C: shaped hemline, wrong side shows.

Pattern Sizing: XS-M, I made the medium.

These are my reflections...

I haven't listened to Usher in I don't know how long, shoot...I don't even listen to R&B so I have NO idea why "Confessions" is stuck in my head lol.

During our superlong delay at the airport last Friday I seem to have found some quiet/down time and I started all this reflecting. I think it started before then but my busy days kinda drowned it out, not to mention I also seem to start reflecting this time of year.  I talk to Old Girl Lady Lee a whole lot about everything (I'm sure she thinks I'm nuts lol) and she said something that really made me pause.

It made me think about school. When you have an assignment in your English class, you finish that assignment but you are STILL in English class. That class isn't over, just the assignment.

I had to REALLY, REALLY look inside and consider what she was saying. Once I "got it" I was good.

Before I got it, I was a MESS lol.

I had a series of events to just kinda happen one behind each other and I kept thinking it was ME. Once I got to the root of it all what I discovered was it wasn't me. The assignment was just over.

I'm starting a new Bible study (because truthfully my Bible studies got pushed wayyyyyyyyyyyy to the back because I wasn't focused, but more on that later) and I'm super excited about it because honestly anything God related was put on the backburner (more on that later) but I had a moment when I realized why certain things were happening. Once God got back in His place everything soothed out.

I spent my birthday in LA with Mimi G :)

Sooooooooooooooooo if you read Mimi G's blog you already know we spent our birthdays together. We had a BLAST. We got home a couple days ago and I am sick as a dog (seems like I was sick the entire trip) but I got it IN on this trip.

This will possibly be the most pictures I've EVER uploaded into one post soooooo I'll keep the words minimal lol. Just scroll through lol.

I was taking alka seltzer shots at the airport lol.

Met a lady who loved minions as much as me.

Our flight was delayed because of the shooting. MANNN MY PHONE BLEW UP. A lot of folks knew when I was leaving but I had NO clue what was going on. More on that later.

Finally on the plane and in the air.

We went THREE times. LOL

We celebrated our bdays together! Great food (that we cooked lol), friends and tons of laughter lol.

One of Tony's long time friends (like back with Patrick long time friends) was in LA and we HAD to hook up. If you look real close at his hand that big ole huge ring is a superbowl ring. I've never seen one IRL so I was all inspecting it lol. He came to the gathering we had here after Patrick passed, but I don't remember seeing it then lol.

When you love it make it again. Kwik Sew 3408 Part Deux

So I told y'all that wrap dresses were about to take over my wardrobe I meant it lol.

I got this gorgeous fabric from Metro Textiles when I was in NY in August and it is GORGEOUS.

I knew when I saw it that I wanted a wrap dress. It's just perfect, don't you agree!? lol

This dress photographs whiter than white lol but you can click the first picture to really see the fabric. It's truly stunning.

I decided to go with my colbalt blue bag for a pop of color and my favorite nude pumps. 

I kept my accessories pretty simple. I literally sparkle everytime I move and when the light hits me just right (I actually loved it lol) so simple was best.

There ya have it. This style is perfect for me and I love it. Don't be shocked if you see it in another version soon. Like VERY soon. I think I need a maxi-wrap dress. Yep I do lol.

I'm in love with my wrap dress...Kwik Sew 3408

  You will have to excuse the exhausted look on my face lol. This week has been I N S A N E. Y'all have no idea lol.

I attended a super special luncheon (more on that later) and needed a nice, effortless chic dress. You can't BEAT a wrap dress for such occassions. Wrap dresses are about to take over my wardrobe. They are fabulous, effortless, and they look amazing on me.

I went fabric shopping with my mom last month and when I saw this fabric I do believe I rolled around on the floor just giddy. I fell in love with it. I LOVE the super large houndstooth print and I love that it's not your "classic" houndstooth colors. The colors are great and perfect for fall.

I'm loving my red bag. It compliments my dress so well.

I kept my accessories very simple. Sparkly bracelet, chain link necklace and nude pumps.  A little sparkly always does a body good.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

Pattern Description: Misses fitted wrap dresses have waist seam, slightly flared skirt, V-neckine, bust darts and self-fabric ties. View B has 3/4 length sleeves.

Pattern Sizing: XS-XL I made the medium.

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Kwik sew always has THE best directions. Their patterns are worth the directions alone. I did look over these for the sake of the review but I didn't need them.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the style of this dress. I normally use Vogue 8379 when I want a wrap dress but I truly believe that one has been replaced.


Fabric Used: Matte Jersey


Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I made the fabric ties wider. I didn't like the narrow ones.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? Yes yes yes yes yes and yes. I am making this one again. And again. And, well you get the point. This pattern is OOP so if you can find it anywhere grab it.

Conclusion: Excellent pattern!

Micheal Kors Inspired, Gorgeous in Pink. New Look 6145

You all know how this story goes:

"I was on pinterest..." lol

Pinterest is truly the beginning of ALL things.

I saw this fabulous Michael Kors Shift Dress and just knew I had to have my own version.

I am in LOVE with this dress. Now the above dress is a boxy shift dress. I didn't want mine TOO boxy. I wanted a little more shaping.

As you can see, it just skims my body. It's not tight. It's actually not even very fitted, just NOT boxy.

I decided to add a 37 inch exposed zipper to the back to give it a little more "umph". I LOVE it.

I ALMOST went ahead and made it in colbalt blue like my inspiration dress but I recently added a blue dress to my wardrobe. I decided this pink would be much more fabulous.

I loved the collar on this one. I've made two dresses with similar collars already. I love this style dress on me.


I kept my accessories simple. I love seeing red & pink together so I decided on this wine color purse and my oh so pretty pink bow pumps. Sparkly bracelets and some sparkly earrings completed the look.

Here is a close up of my adorabo shoes, because y'all know...it's ALL about the shoes.

For those of you who sew, here is a review:

New Look 6145

Pattern Description: Misses' knee length shift dress has wide round neckline with or without bias-cut stand collar and can be made sleeveless or with 3/4, short or pleated sleeves.

Pattern Sizing: 8-18 I cut the size 10


Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? These instructions are great. I didn't really use them but I did have to read over them for the collar construction.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved that this pattern was similar to my inspiration dress.


Fabric Used: I honestly don't know what kind of fabric this is. I picked it up from Metro Textiles while I was in NY. It's heavy, like a wool crepe, but almost reminds me of a ponte knit. It's a woven but it's stretchy lol. I absolutely LOVE IT.


Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I added some additional shaping, length and added an exposed zipper.

I cut the size ten based on my measurements but knew I didn't want it to fit as boxy as this pattern is. There really isn't ANY shaping to it. I made the darts in the back larger and tried it on. It still didn't fit the way I wanted so I took in about an inch and a half on each side seam.

I added 3.5 inches to the dress. Without the additional length it was about 2 inches above my knee and I didn't want to wear it that short.

I added an exposed zipper, just leaving the zipper teeth exposed. I also decided not to close the bottom of the zipper/dress. This dress originally has a split. My zipper is a separating zipper so I decided not to close the bottom but allow it to act as a split. It hits right at the bend of my knee.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I JUST might sew this one again. I LOVE it. I highly recommend it if you like this style.

Conclusion: This is a great pattern. It's such a classic style and this may be my most favorite garment to date lol.

African Roots...New Look 6003

I had an event to attend a few weeks ago and I always love to wear something eye catching when I'm going to be in front of a lot of people. I am my BEST advertistment lol.

I was on pinterest and saw this top I INSTANTLY got off the site and literally tore my studio apart because I KNEW I had that fabric in my stash.

I was going to make a top but decided I would get more wear out of a skirt:

I absolutely LOVED the colors in this one. This was my first time working with African Wax and I found it to be a tad bit slippery even when it was pinned. Maybe it was just me but this stuff MOVED lol

It was fun to work with and I've already made plans for the rest of it that I have in my stash lol. Y'all know how I get. The colors just sold me. You know I love me some color. I wanted it to be a little more than just a "pencil" skirt so I thought a peplum version would be spot on. It was.

I let the skirt be the focal point and wore a simple white t-shirt. I looked great, the people loved it and I brought in a few new clients. Win- Win situation lol.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? This is such a great skirt pattern to have, I probably will sew it again.

Conclusion:Great pattern! Pick it up if you like this style.

Green with Envy! Vogue 8902

The second I saw this pattern I instantly fell in love with it. I've seen dresses in stores and all over the internet with these details and of course I had to have my own version.

I've totally fallen in love with green and blue and as soon as my green fabric came in the mail I knew what it would become.

I paired it with one of my favorite colbalt blue jackets. When I showed you guys some of my shopping stuff here I knew I would be wearing pops of color all fall/winter. I love color and what a great way to brighten up any fall/winter day.

I *adore* this bag. Even though the prints don't match I still wore the bag and shoes together. I love it.

I made this dress a few weeks back and when I orginally took picutures in it I wore it like this:

But of course I wanted a new picture since I have a new haircut :)

Vogue 8902

Pattern Description: Dress has close-fitting, bias bodice/sides, seam detail, sleeve and skirt variations, and back zipper. Topstitching. Bodices, sides and sleeves: lined. C and F: stitched hem on sleeves. D, E and F: narrow hem. A, B, C, D cup sizes.

Pattern Sizing: I orginally cut the 12 but ended up cutting it again in a size 8


Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? They are very straight forward and easy to understand.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love the design lines of this pattern.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I plan on making another view of this dress.

Conclusion: This was a great pattern but beware of the sizing. IMO this pattern runs VERY large. I normally always cut a 12 when working with vogue knit patterns. I'll do a flat pattern measurement if I'm unsure but I didn't this time. I wish I would have. It started to look WAY big so I sewed it up and tried it on and it was HUGE. I took it all back out and did a flat pattern measurement and I cut the 8 based on that. It was still a little too roomy for me so I took it up down the center back. When I make this again, I'm making a muslin first because I plan on using leather insets.

Dressing the teens! Butterick 5893

Jaelyn LOVES this style pant. Everytime she finds some they are too long. Now sure I can fix them for her but the ones she loves almost always has some type of border print on the bottom. Hemming them would totally get rid of the print.

 

She found this print in my stash that I've had for atleast two years (got it in Nashville) and I decided to go ahead and let her have it lol.

She was pleased as punch in her pants and all her friends loved them. Now, this isn't the style for me but she loved them so I'm gonna roll with that lol.

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I glanced at them but they were pretty straight foward.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? My daughter loves this style pant but can't find the cute ones in her size because she is so short.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? She loves this style pant so if she wants more I'll make them for her. This pattern was very easy and sewed up quickly.

I draped a dress, got a haircut & I want your opinion.

I saw a dress a while back (like July) in a bridal shop. I absolutely fell in love with it.

I attend atleast 2 formal events each year and I'm always looking for ideas that are kinda out of the box. When I saw this I planned on making something similar for a formal Christmas banquet that we attend every year. Just so happens we had another formal that I found out about in early August. I would need a dress by October.

While I was in NY in August, I saw this necklace and I knew I would plan my entire dress around it:

While Mimi and I were shopping I thought about the dress, showed her a picture and started talking fabric colors. I did NOT want something too colorful. I wanted to go neutral but NOT black. The colors in this necklace gave me a great starting point.

This was my finished look. Now I wanted a BIG flower. I loved the flower on the original dress but I'm dramatic lol. I needed BIGGER.  I've worked on this dress off and on for weeks. Between my Adrienne's Essentials clients and Stitched9 not to mention doing my photography and the events that I do. It took FOREVER.

I didn't use a pattern. I draped the entire thing. It was fun and it showed that I learned a LOT in the draping classes that I took. The only challenge I had was the foundation. Now it wasn't hard, just TIME comsuming so I really shouldn't say challenge. I should have taken pictures of the inside because it's like art. No really lol.

There is boning in all the bodice seams and extra boning in between the side and back. I wanted to make sure I was ALL in there lol and that it was stable. It's also fully lined. 

The wind was SO high and it truly wouldn't let me be great lol. The back has a slight train that Tony stepped on all night lol. I can't begin to tell you how much fun it was to make this.The only regret I have is the narrow hem. When I measured the first time I was going to wear a different shoe, I changed my mind last minute and when I put the other shoes on it was TOO SHORT. I would have normally done a blind hem on it but didn't want my feet to show lol, so the narrow hem won.

My flower is HUGE and exactly what I wanted. I cut each of the "petals" free hand and added just a LITTLE sparkle to each one.

The fabric I used is a crepe back satin. I didn't want the flower and the dress to be shiny so I used the wrong side of the fabric on some of the petals to add some texture/depth to it.

I always have my camera. ALWAYS.

I always like to have a wrap or something just in case it's chilly in the building. IT WAS COLD lol. I ended up in Tony's jacket before the night was over lol

Styling:

I was talking to a friend the other day and she said my hair cut and makeup were edgy but my dress looked like a pageant dress. Essentially the dress, hair and makeup doesn't work together.

Since my hair cut is edgy I need to dress more edgy or it'll look like I'm trying to be a housewife but I'm really a party girl.

Now, I know how "I" feel about that. What do you think? Is my haircut too "edgy"? Do I need to wear more edgy clothes so it works well with my hair cut?  Keep in mind this is just YOUR opinion. My feelings are NOT hurt easily at all and I'm asking for your thoughts.

I love, love, love, LOVE them. I made a pair a couple weeks ago and if you follow me on Instagram or either of my facebook  pages you've already seen how much I love them lol along with everyone else lol

I wore this to lunch with Tony and I loved it. I made it a tad bit more casual by pairing it with a denim jacket and simple black tshirt.

I have NO idea what I was laughing at but Tony always cuts up when he is taking my pictures lol. Kayla has been taking them for the past few months so it was fun taking them with him lol

I actually can't wait to make these in leather and sequin. Like seriously can not wait. I've already made a sequin jacket that I can't wait to wear lol

Fabric Used: I'm not sure what kind of fabric this is. It's a type of knit. Not as thin as an ITY but almost as thick as a double knit. I love it.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I'm not going to sew this one again but a similar pattern for the next pair I make.

Conclusion: Great pattern if you like this style.
