I saw this dress and LOVED it:
When I tell y'all something is happening to me lol. Someone called me prissy lol. I think I am lol. I've gone ultra girly/glam here lately and I LOVE it lol
Enter McCall's 6466
Pattern Description: Misses lined dress
Pattern Sizing: 10-18
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't really look at the directions until I got to the skirt portion. They were CONFUSING. I don't know if I was tired or what but I made it WRONG the first time. I ended up sewing ALL the pieces together so I had this one long piece of tulle. HORRIBLE lol. I then realized I was supposed to have FIVE different tulle skirts. It could have just been me but I really was confused lol.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? This style dress really looked like my inspiration piece.
Fabric Used: I used stretch velvet for the bodice and middriff and tulle for the skirt.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: I only used a lining in the skirt portion. I did NOT line the bodice or put in a zipper. I finished off the edges with FOE (Fold over elastic) and added a belt that I purchased. I also cut almost half the tulle off. It was WAY too long. I need to get a better picture. It's actually right under my knee. It looks longer on this picture.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I will NOT sew this again lol. ONe of this dress is enough. I would make if for a client if requested but I don't need another in my wardrobe.
Conclusion: I loved wearing this dress and got compliments all night :)

I found your blog on Sheila Gregoire's blog. I love sewing and Los the fact that you are a Christian. What you said about the tulle was so funny. How brave you are to take that on. I know myself and know that my beautiful Bernina would have taken a Trip out the nearest window had I taken that on! You look gorgeous, though!
