My FIRST sewn item of 2009!! WOO HOOOO! LOL
Gotta love the get ready shots lol. Tony is ALWAYS snapping lol
OOP McCalls 5323
Pattern Description: Unlined, fitted wrap blouse has sleeve and neckline variations; blouse
A has purchased applique; blouses A, B have side ties, purchased trim;
blouse C has sash; includes separate pattern pieces for A, B, C and D
cup sizes.
Pattern Sizing:14-20
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? yes
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't really use the instructions on this one. It's basic shirt construction.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I didn't really care for the puffy sleeve. I didn't realize how puffy it was until I was working with it.
Fabric Used: Cotton shirting from my stash. I've had it so long I don't even remember where I got it from.
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: None other than combing view A and B.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I am going to make this my TNT wrap shirt pattern. I MIGHT make this exact version again but use a different sleeve. When I make it again I will do a different neckline and sleeve. This was my first time working with the made-for-you patterns and they are SUPERB!!!! I LOVE that it has cup sizes. That is awesome lol. I HIGHLY recommend this pattern if you can find it.
Conclusion: GREAT pattern!!! This was the first time I've been at my machine since the end of October 2008 sooo I was kinda rusty and it took me FOREVER. I think you can make this in a couple of hours from start to finish.
What a fabulous looking blouse! You look stunning in it!

Oh Adrienne, I love your shirt! The ruffle trim is really cute. I have this pattern, so I will have to give it a try real soon. Thanks for the tip on the sleeves.

I like the blouse! I don't think the sleeve is too puffy for you, though. You don't have military-broad shoulders like I do(*LOL*) so it looks lovely!
Posted by: Dani | January 21, 2009 at 01:09 PM
I rather like the puffy sleeves on you.

I love it, too bad it's out of print, but it sort of reminds me of the exclusive design in the latest BWOF so that will have to do! It can be hard to find wrap blouses that stay wrapped, but yours looks like a great fit.
