ANYONE else glad it's Friday!??! Sheesh I am. Let's throw it back...
Mannnnn LOVE me some Mary J. What year was this? 1994??????
Thanks for all your prayers, well wishes and emails. This has been SOME week!
Tony is doing fine....he was just shaken up.
What are you guys doing this weekend? Ours will be packed. I have so much to do. I WANT to try and sneak to the movies today to see Nights in Rodanthe. I just finished the book last week and it was superb. The main characters name was Adrienne lol....and she had 3 kids lol. There is a 1:15 showing that I hope to make. We will see. I have a LOT to do today as well lol.
How about a Pattern Review..
Vogue 8118 OOP
Pattern Description:
Semi-fitted, pull-on tops have raglan sleeves in various lengths and stitched hems
Pattern Sizing:
6-12
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes it was similar.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The instructions were fine.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I loved the entire pattern. It's well drafted and I didn't have any trouble with it.
Fabric Used:
Ivory Bamboo knit
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
This pattern is designed to be made up in a woven. Since I used a knit I had to go a size down. Also, in the description it is a semi-fitted shirt. That is because of the ribbon ties. I didn't want this shirt to tie in the back so I ended up taking almost 2 inches off of both sides. I was REALLY inspired by this
Theory Knit Top (hmmm this might be my first official knock off? LOL)so I made view A and B. I used the sleeves from view A and simply added some elastic to the sleeves to create a simple puff sleeve. I didn't want to line the sleeve so this was the next best thing IMO. I did NOT include the facings. When I went to add them on, it didn't give me the look I was going for so didn't use them lol. I love the drape of the collar without it.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I REALLY like this top but with so many other patterns out there for me to try I HIGHLY doubt if I make it again, but I highly suggest it if you can find it.
Conclusion:
Great pattern!
I had this list of what I was going to work on next....just scratch that lol. I've done everything BUT that lol.
Y'all have a great weekend! BE SAFE!!!
Toodles!
Awesome knock-off girl! =)
