Why was it SO hot yesterday!?!? I thought I wasn't leaving home but I had to make a quick trip to the post office. I looked at the thermostat in my car:
Yeah....that's HOT lol.
I haven't sewn a lick but I have been planning and fondling my fabrics lol.
Pattern review is having another mini wardrobe contest and I'm going to give it a go! Remember the last contest.... yeah I lost it by like 3 votes lol. Bummer lol.
Anyway, I'm trying again. The rules this time are a bit different:
Pattern Review’s Mini-Wardrobe Contest
August 1 through August 31, 2008
The 3/3/4 Mini-wardrobe Contest.
This is a contest to create a 4-piece wardrobe in 4 weeks. You will determine what clothing pieces you use in your wardrobe.
The catch is you must include (at least):
-3 different types of garments
-3 different colors in the wardrobe
and they must combine to make
-4 distinct, different outfits.
All pieces must coordinate with each other.
Sounds like fun eh??
I've been reading this article on wardrobe planning, and yeah its basic stuff but there were a few things I learned from reading all of it...there are several parts. So I'm going to incorporate that into the rest of my fall/winter garment planning.
Well I've ABOUT narrowed down which patterns I want to make BUT I haven't picked all my fabrics JUST yet. I do want to pull the colors from this piece:
A close up maybe?
I simply LOVE the colors in this fabric. Soooo, I really want to pull my other colors from there. I KNOW I'll be working with a dark lightweight denim and it looks so good with this, and white. Technically those are my three colors BUT I have to come up with four different looks...soooooooo I want to pull that "Caribbean Sea" out of it...or the "Burnt Orange". Those were two of my favorite colors from the Pantone Fashion Color Report but I really love all of them lol.
So hopefully by the end of the week I will have everything planned out...I HOPE lol.
I do have these fabulous wool jersey's that are screaming at me to be sewn up....
one more....
I simply can not wait lol. I am SO in love with this print. Houndstooth screams fall. Y'all already know I'm ready lol.
I have a couple solids....
and this one....
Love them both....They are calling my name. I PROMISE you if it doesn't get cold down here this year I'm gonna be PISSED OFF lol.Not that I can actually DO anything about it but still lol.
Ok, that's it for me today. I plan on knitting through a movie today so hopefully there will be some knitting content tomorrow. I have to start all over...ugh...but oh well lol.
Toodles!!
Adrienne, I'm looking forward to see what you come up with. Your last Wardrobe was wonderful. Of course, I especially loved that puffed sleeve jacket, which I'm doing a muslin on this week.

Good luck on your wardrobe! That is a lot of sewing in a little time. I know you're so fast but I could not make all those pieces in that time! Your fabrics are awesome, I love that burnt orange too and was just thinking about finding me some fabric in that color. Good luck, can't wait to see the results, as always!

You have it good - I looked at my dashboard and saw the numbers '140.' I was like...no way I am driving that fast. Then I realized how it wasn't the speedometer, it was the temparature outside. LOL.
Okay I am only joking.
Good luck on your contest.
