Do y'all remember this?!?!?!?!
Yeahhhh man lol
And some sewing......
Vogue 8489 You can read a full review HERE:
( I posted two pics, because I couldn't decide on which shoes to wear lol. I have a clutch for both pair...so what do you guys think?) I am leaning more toward the red though lol. ;-)
I simply love this dress. It was really easy to make and didn't really take too much time at all. The only thing I did differently was to omit the zipper. I seriously see NO need for a zipper in a knit dress. ESPECIALLY if I can get it over my head with no trouble lol, but that is just MY opinion.
This fabric was a gift from a dear friend! I was anxiously awaiting the May BWOF issue so I could make something else with this fabric (which I NEVER got and yes I DO subscribe) but I am glad I didn't get it. This dress was perfect for it!
I am still rocking my ponytail until I decide what I am going to do with my hair...It is making me feel so BLAH I gotta do something SOON....ugh.
I also noticed that it is either time for me to go jewelry shopping or bead shopping so Zanete can make me some necklaces. I could have SWORN she made me a red bead necklace but I could NOT find it lol. Oh Zannnnneteeeeeeeeeee lol.
In other news, I am contest happy lol. I have entered Advance Beginner Contest
and the Stash Contest on Pattern Review. I STILL don't know what I'm going to do for the Advance Beginner contest, but I plan on picking something out tonight. I think it will be fun. I love using all the new techniques that I often read about but was too scared to try lol. Now I'm not scared anymore. I like that feeling! LOL I remember a time when I was afraid of Vogue patterns! LOL
Those of you in the area, don't forget about my class tonight at Scrap Etc. I think there are a couple spaces left (well there were the other day lol) so call and see if you can still sign up.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS MINI ALBUM CLASS

Ok, I think that is it...but OMG....LOST!?!?!? AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK lol
LOL have a great weekend guys!
Toodles!
I love your dress. That fabric was a wonderful gift. It's gorgeous. About Vogue patterns, I'm still afraid of them. I have to get the courage to try them. I have learned that I need to start with the ones that say "very easy." Is that how you did it, or did you just jump right in?

What a gorgeous dress. I've had my eye set on this Vogue ever since it came out. Man, now I want it even more badly!
The fabric is gorgeous and it's really hard to decide between the two pairs of shoes, both look fabulousyour outfit is fabulous both times. You look amazing!!
Have a great weekend Adrienne! :)

PS I think you look adorable with a ponytail. I've always ended up regretting chopping off my hair, so I've decided I'm through with big haircuts. Don't cut it too much, you look great with your longer hair, and it allows many different looks!
OK, JMHO, LOL. It's your hair. :D
Dear, the more I look at your dress, the more I want one *exactly* like yours, in black and white, with big polka dots and all!
Posted by: Isabelle | May 30, 2008 at 02:46 AM
Adrienne: Although I luv both pairs of shoes, the red pumps are a sure GO.
You need to feature Miz LU on your blog (if you haven't done so already). I have her link on my blog.
Love ya!

Posted by: Rachel | May 30, 2008 at 05:05 AM
That is a stunning dress! I have been looking for fabric with oversized polka dots with no luck. Definitely the red shoes. And red jewelry would be wonderful. Big chunky red beads. Yeah, that's it!
You look beautiful, Adrienne!
Posted by: Bonnie | May 30, 2008 at 05:12 AM
It came about FABULOUS! :oD
Gurl I had a big smile on my face when I saw it!!!
And you know I luv it with the RED!!!!
Gurl add that bead necklace and you are SET!
The sleeves, the white bands! I luv it!!
You did great things with that fabric!! YaY!!
And you will be sailing beyond advanced beginner soon! I can't wait to watch!! :o)

That dress is gorgeous! I really wish I could sew like you. I really like both shoes and normally I'd go with the red ones but the black and white ones really look good with this dress. Either way you'll look beautiful!

Ooooh...you finished it! Looks great! Embarrassing story: I once got hit on by a member of the Flipmode squad (not Busta). Yick.

Fab dress and like it with the red shoes.
Posted by: sheila | May 30, 2008 at 10:58 AM
Very cute dress - so girly. I can't decide on the shoes either...
Posted by: Christina | May 30, 2008 at 11:11 AM
I agree, the red shoes. Dress is too cute! I think natural hair is best, but I know that involves a big chop if you've been perming. I love natural styles, but that is just me! I know where you're coming from, when I wear a ponytail, I don't feel my best. Hair really is a woman's crowning glory. Good Luck! Can't wait to see when you decide to do.

I personally think you are past "advanced beginner"!! But those contests do sound like fun. I will check them out again.
I love your dress, as you know - and both shoes are great!
I totally love the feeling of not being afraid of any sewing techniques - totally agree! It's awesome to look through the pattern instructions and say, "oh yeah, I can do that, can do that, yep, that, no problem!"

Posted by: Bobbi | May 31, 2008 at 09:07 AM
First - its hard to think of you as an Advanced Beginner! :) Good luck with the PR contests.
Second - I love the dress! I have seen that pattern alot but never that view. You really made the fabric sing!
Third - wear it both ways...that way the dress has a different flavor each time you wear it!
Posted by: Carolyn | May 31, 2008 at 10:04 AM
That dress is super cute!!!! I am so not a matchy matchy kind of girl so I like the red shoes, but I also think that a really cute black high heeled sandal would be cute as well. Either way you'll be a hottie!!!!!

Really Adrienne. Either shoe. If you wear the black and white shoes, I would carry a red clutch to add some color.

Posted by: Lashell | June 01, 2008 at 01:14 PM
