Happy Saturday guys!!!
Remember WAY BACK WHEN I first posted about do a knitting project? I made SOME PROGRESS, then I made a little bit more progress then all of a sudden I STOPPED KNITTING! I think it was at that point that my sewing mojo went into overdrive. WELL, I picked up the shift the other day and finished it.
Now, you will NEVER, EVER see this on me. FIRST of all, I don't know WHAT made me think all this chunky yarn would look good on me. Ummm NO! It makes me look HUGE. Secondly, the length is all wrong. It was knit from the bottom up and I didn't really try it on at all until I was finished. This tunic is too long for me and it cuts my legs in half and makes me look stumpy. Nooo sir. Not a good look lol, so my cat just got something new and warm to sleep on. She is going to love it come winter.
I am looking for a nice summer top to knit. Any suggestions? LOL
Remember this fabric?
I got it a while back from fabric.com I THINK. I can't remember. I need some suggestions on what to make from this. I have three or four yards. I can't remember lol. I was thinking wrap dress with contrasting bands, but I don't know. Any suggestions and pattern numbers would be GREATLY appreciated.LOL :-)
Ok, that is all I have for today!! Hope you guys enjoy your weekend!!
Toodles!
The color is definitely you!!
What about re-purposing the yarn ooh wait you don't want to do bulky.
Okay what about the Lillian Tank :o) On my 2nd one now. Check my Ravelry page out for details!
Happy Saturday to you too!

The wrap dress is a wonderful idea. Also, a shrug and halter combo would look wonderful.

Too bad about the tunic. I agree about frogging it and doing something else. But if the kitty needs someplace to curl up that sounds good too.
The material would look good as a halter top or some type of summer top to go with some pants or shorts. The wrap dress sounds good too. If I can find a pattern I will let you know.

My cat is meowing over here for that bulky tunic...lol.
The fabric would be great for a wrap dress, what about New Look 6697?

I'm sorry for your knitting project... Maybe you could take it apart and use the yarn for something else?? (of course you should wait a few months before taking it again, lol)
That fabric is GORGEOUS! I love the ripple print! I think it would look lovely on a wrap dress, with or WITHOUT contrasting bands! I remember Erica making some fabulous wrap dresses, maybe you could pick the pattern she used on her dresses!

Sorry about your knitting project. Just remember me, when your sewing and knitting projects are just a bit too small for you. I'll take them, LOL!!!
I am sure kitty will be nice a comfy.
I have no ideas about the fabric, but it is cute. I can't wait to see what you do with it.
PS Have a great Mother's Day.

As others have suggested, the wrap dress. That fabric reminds me of some used on a dress in the New look pattern catalog. Very Pretty!

Oh bummer about your top - that's such a pretty color too.
I think the Ophelia top would look fantastic on you! I don't think I can post links here, but it's easy to find on Ravelry.

I have that same piece of fabric...I had originally thought that I would make a dress length cardigan with it but it still sits in the fabric closet waiting its turn to be used. It will be interesting to see what you make from it.

Lovely fabric. Maybe you can make a summer dress or skirt from it. I'm sure you will find something you like.
Love, Isolde

That fabric is so Missoni. Perhaps you could find some divine inspirations here

Sorry, tried to link you to Missoni website--didn't work: m-missoni.com The Spring/summer collection is great. I can see you in so many of those dresses.

Sorry to hear about the knit garment :( Sometimes things just don't work out though, I definitely have been there. I think chunky cotton is harder to wear than chunky wool blends, because it's so inflexible and doesn't conform to the body as well.
Love that fabric!! I think a wrap dress would be great for it!
