A few weeks ago my girls decided they were ready to be baptized. We were already talking about it but I didn't want to force them. I wanted them to understand and make the decision for themselves. I was so proud!! (Aj still doesn't understand JUST yet lol)
So, I decided that I wanted to make their dresses to be baptized in:
You can read a review HERE.
I love this picture because it really shows the personalities of my girls lol.
Even though the church provided robes for them, I still wanted them to wear these under it. More of a keepsake than a necessity.
Here is a picture of them waiting...
Even looking at these pictures now, my heart just swells with joy.
So many people are against going to a physical church but one thing I had to see (because yes I was in that crowd) is that I'm going to get the Word for ME. Sure you can get it at home on your own, but there is something about being in the company of other believers.
Ok, that's all! LOL Thanks for letting me share this with you all! :-)
Hope you are having a great Sunday!!
Toodles!
OOoh I remember the plastic bags under the towels! LOL
*clears throat* Ur Uh Yeah
What a wonderful and joyous day!!! :oD
They will definitely remember this day too and the dresses will be a would rememberance of it as well!
I agree there is something to be said about being together with other believers. Afterall God had it in His Word that he wanted it that way! ;o)

Congratulations to your girls!!!
On a side note, I must be a bit more claustrophobic than I thought, because those pictures of them under the water actually strike a note of panic in me!!!

*In tears*...nothing moves my heart more than babies who accept Christ and then show the world who they belong too. The dresses are beautiful.
Have a wonderful week.

What a special memory for your family! I agree, the fellowship of other believers is amazing. :) (hebrews 10:25)

AWESOMELY COOL!!!! I am so excited for them. Delaney was just baptized this year too, and was one of the proudest moments. I think that's about the age that they really decide for themselves (McKenna was also 12 when she was baptized). The pictures are Wonderful!!! Tell the girls CONGRATS for me!!
And I'm with you... you don't have to go to church to be a Christian, but it sure does help to be surrounded by believing friends...and also to have that time every week when you are reminded of what your priorities should be!!!!
Love it all!!!!

How precious! I saw the review on PR but did not know about the occasion for the dresses. I know you must be so proud of your daughters. They are lucky to have a mother who cares about their spirituality.
Blessings!

And I agree, you need to go to church for YOU! You shouldn't neglect going because of this person or that person. Private worship is great, but getting together with other believers embodies the fullness of Christ. Okay, I'm preaching to myself! Thanks for this post!

That is wonderful for your girls!

Oh Adrienne, that's AWESOME!! It's SO important for kids to know about being baptized and the reasoning behind it. You're a great mom for letting THEM make this important decision. Jayla has been asking about it a lot lately. She's only 6 but I'm sure the full understanding is making it's way to her little heart and mind too. HOW EXCITING!! Thanks for sharing.

Funny! I can see which daughter who's going to be the 'Next Little Miss Top Model'!!!! Cute, with her hands on her hips. I also noticed, she's looking at the camera while waiting her turn.
Oh those pictures bring back memories of when I was baptized in the Baptist church! I didn't then and now care much for being submerged under water and don't have fond memories of it because of that reason. But I know as a parent it is a heart warming feeling.
I agree about going to church. I feel so much better being surrounded by the music and other believers. It's very comforting.

That is so great!!! One of my favorite pics of Abbey was on her baptismal day!

How refreshing! Don't get me wrong, I thoroughly enjoy reading about sewing and crafts and what not, but nothing warms my very soul more than the things of God. And to see two young girls demonstrate their profession of faith in Christ with water baptism - WOW! Thank you sooooo much for sharing that with us. I pray that your children will "...grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen." II Peter 3:18
