WOW! I am seriously loving this thing called sewing right now...but alas it must come to an end lol. I have one top to show you guys tomorrow, and that is IT for a couple weeks.
It is time to back away from the sewing machine lol...
BUT I am still thinking about sewing!!! LOL
Let's talk about this thing called inspiration.....Where does your inspiration come from?
I was in blog land and when I got to Stephanie's blog
She inspired me to pull out M5591 view B
I think I have the perfect fabric for this one!! So, thank you for your inspiration!
I was going through Tearsa's blog the other day and she posted this Derek Lam Dress back in early March.
That I just love. I'm going to make it with V8233.I Still don't know know what color combo I will do...but I love it!
So thank you Tearsa ! You inspired me!!!
Then there is Tany. We were talking ummmm Sunday night I think about the new BWOF....I'm waiting on this issue too. I am LOVING:
This top is SO hot to me!!!
Not only do I love this dress, the fabric is TDF!
This dress is SO going to be made...and YES in black! LOL
So thanks Tany! You inspired me!!!
Then, I think other than fellow bloggers, there is Pattern Review. This has to be one of THE best places on the web for inspiration. Why? Well, because it's one place where a LOT of other people show the garments they have made!! There are SO many things over there, that I may not have EVER noticed, had it not been for someone sewing it up and posting it!
For example:
I was looking through the gallery and came across this review. Had it not been for her, I would have NEVER thought to get this pattern! It is now on my list! LOL
So thank YOU! You inspired me!!!
Then, a couple weeks ago, I saw this review:
I about fell out of my chair! I LOVE this top!!! I went to the Vogue site and NOTHING...zip....the pattern is OOP and they don't even sell it!!! Remember that saying...whatever "IT" is......ummm hmmmm, went to ebay and lookie what I got yesterday:
Just like this DVF top:
DVF price $198. MY price...total probably around $15 bucks (pattern, fabric and notions)!!!
Yep!! I LOVE this shirt!! And I love the pants! I have this grey-ish color stretch poplin (that has a sheen to it), but it's a heavy poplin. Kinda hard to describe, but that would look great.
So thanks to all of you for your inspiration!!!
A corny post? Maybe, but it is what it is! Too bad I can't act on all this inspiration just yet! LOL
Ok, that is it! It's time to focus on my scrapping!! I leave later this week for The Scrap Etc Event in Nashville
I can NOT wait! I am almost finished packing, I have the kids stuff together...almost finished with the pre-cooking for the fam while I'm away. STILL need to do a bazillion rolodex cards.....that will be my focus on tomorrow, and I'm GOING to finish my knitting on the plane. I WILL FINISH MY TUNIC...Well....that is the plan! LOL
Ok. That is all! LOL
Have a great day!
Toodles!
OH, since I will be gone, there won't be a podcast, but hopefully once I get back I can get back on track!!!
Thanks for the shout out Adrienne! You inspire me every day!!!
I agree on what you say about PR! I don't write a review there for a very long time (I don't find the time for everything, lol), but I do browse their reviews every once in a while and I pay the annual membership, because I think it's only fair if I take benefit from it!
The Donna Karan pattern looks awesome! Too bad they don't sell it anymore or I would be buying it too!!

And you can never have enough crisp white shirts!
What are all the notecards for??
You are on serious countdown the hours now! Have a safe trip! And don't forget to raid a yarn shop while in there too!! :oD

Thanks for commenting on the little baby sweater set! Wow, I love all of these future sewing projects you have lined up. You are fantastic at sewing...I can't sew! My mom and sister are awesome at it, but not me. I watched your video, and you got out of the corporate world, and I'm interviewing for a corporate job right now! So.....what size do you wear? :) If I get the job and the size is right....interested in purging your closet? :)

That DVF top is some sho nuff cuteness!
Where do I find inspiration? From the many blogs I peruse. And don't get me started talking about the blogs I come across as I'm blog-hopping. We'll be here all day :).

My inspiration comes from being out and about. Museums, travel, walks. I love how inspiring life can be for my writing and photographs. :) Have SO much fun on your trip. :)

Like you, PR & blogs inspire me to sew more and better! I love that DKNY Vogue pattern ... so much sew that I made sure I bought it on its last run in the books/pattern drawers a few years back even though it was way beyond my skill level. I mean, back then I couldn't even FATHOM attempting a FBA on that pattern! But with PR and blog sisters by my side, I now know I can sew just about anything I put my mind and energy to.

Pretty dresses! I get inspired by everything around me, and the internet plays a large part, too. Too bad the internet can't *motivate* me! LOL.

I am so jealous, but so happy for you!!!! I would love to go to the Scrap etc. Event. Who knows maybe sometime in the future, I will. But have fun, as I know you will and take lots of pics to share. The ones last year were awesome!!!!

I really love that last black dress! I know what you mean on Patternreview - I have really been utilizing it to the fullest lately. I like the email notifications I've signed up for with links to all the new pattern reviews written the previous day. It helps me keep up on what's out there.

You inspire me all the time. I'm glad I could return the favor! :)

My Goodness! My inspiration comes from tons of sources. To start: my fellow blogging and PR sewists, magazines and catalogs, TV, pattern companies, firstview.com, other fashion website, friends..., you name it. This post alone is inspiration. I like to black jersey? dress and the Derek Lam dress(featured in Marie Claire recent issue).
