Woo hoo lol. I am SO just kidding lol. The kids are out of school for spring break and BOY are "THEY" happy! LOL I plan on keeping them BUSY. Yep. But we will have a good time doing it.
Before I go on, I MUST wish my Grandma a Happy 80th Birthday!!!
This was THE best shot I could get. My mom was being "so" silly lol.
Jaelyn had a pretty big day yesterday but more on that later. Here is a pic of her and my Uncle after church.
She also has her "first" pair of "heels" lol. It's just a wedge shoe....lol
She was so happy y'all lol. I am a FIRM believer in little girls dressing like little girls. Call me old fashion but they grow up so fast anyway. WHY rush it?!? lol. Jaelyn has BIG feet (to be 12 yrs old) so it's hard finding "little girl" type shoes for her. These were PERFECT!!! She loves them and so do I! LOL You all DO know this will be a layout THIS WEEK right? LOL
So how was your weekend?!? Mine was pretty good!!
Let's start with Friday. My word. I went to this place called Massage Envy. I mean SERIOUSLY. I had a Swedish Massage done, and I promise you it was the most wonderful thing. I was going to one spa regularly but ummmm. I have already made my next appointment at this one. LOVE IT!
Then I went shoe shopping for me. Ahhh it's been a good while since I just "set out" to buy some shoes. I found one pair I loved but they didn't have my size. Go figure. I'm in the process of trying to find them online. I WANT to wear them to the Jill Scott Concert so HOPEFULLY I can find them, and have them over nighted to me lol. Gotta make sure ya know? LOL
Friday night, I did some sewing, scrapping and I watched movies! LOL I think I'm going to start reviewing the movies I watch...ya know just in case you guys are looking for something to watch ;-) But my taste in movies is JUST like my taste in music...lol
Saturday was a BUSY day. I left home SO early it was insane! I took the kids shopping. Jaelyn still had $100 left over from Christmas (YES CHRISTMAS!!!!) and Kayla won $50 from school. So off we went. *sigh* Young kids and money do NOT mix! LOL. It is SO frustrating to me. My mom told me I was the same way lol.
We went to the Scrapbook store first. Can you hear the angels singing??? They got in The Bind It All. KAREN!! YOU DID THIS! LOL I did resist it Saturday but you can BET I will be getting one when I go back in there!!! I LOVE this! I've seen it online before but something about seeing it IRL made me want it. You know how that goes!!! LOL
Then....I took the girls to Justice. This has to be their FAVORITE store. I will NOT being to tell you how long we stayed in this store lol. Even though I was frustrated lol, I know girls like to shop, and my girls BARGAIN SHOP!!! So I had to PRAY that I would not be TOO frustrated lol. Here is a pic of Kayla....still looking even after she was "finished"
I took Aj to get a new game for his gameboy and that made him VERY happy lol.
I have to say, I am happy to have kids that love to read. They got that from me ;-) tee hee. No seriously, they LOVE to read. Aj is still learning, but is doing very well...Here are a few pics from the best place on earth. The kids say that...NOT ME lol
You all KNOW I love this one:
The loot?
They did pretty good. The majority of those books belong to Jaelyn but there are a couple that I might read.
I came home and found this in the mail:
Christina was talking about some tea a few posts back on her blog and I LOVE tea...seriously. I do NOT have a Trader Joes (although I wish I did, they seem to have the best stuff!!!!) so she sent me some tea!! Mind you this pic was taken AFTER I ripped open the box and had my first glass of it. I LOVE THIS! IT IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good and SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO refreshing!!!!!!! Thanks again chicka!!! I appreciate it!!!
And NO weekend is complete without...
My weekly trip to Hancock with my mom. Even if we never buy anything (ha, yeah right lol), it's just that time together, no kids, no anyone but us that we love. We will just sit down and look at the pattern books...plan out what fabric we will get with the next coupon lol, scope out what is on clearance lol. Just have a good time together.
Ok, I think this post is long enough. Tomorrow, I'll show you guys what I scrapped and sewed over the weekend and a bunch of linkage!! Carolyn has a great post about what people do with their fabric scraps. Pop on over and share your ideas, or pick up a few. I make tanks for my girls and cover headbands for them. They like it, I love it! LOL
Ok, that's it. SERIOUSLY LOL
Have a great day!!!!
Toodles!!!
enjoy your spring break girl
we just finished ours.. not long enough :)
take it easy.. looks so nice and bright and warm :)

Girrrrlllllllll! That was some weekend! Adrienne, Tony would probably kick me out after 24 hours, because we would get into so much trouble together shopping! LOL But, like you, I love a good bargain. Your girls are so much like Jaree, she loves to shop and read! Wonder where they get that from? LOL
Too bad, my boys don't like to read! Jariel reads more than Bee, but Jaree is a book worm. I introduced her to my two favorite childhood authors ,Judy Blume and Beverly Cleary and girl, she has been on a reading rampage. She just got into the American Girl books too.
I love to shop with my mom too, because most of the time, she's spending the money...LOL
Can't wait to see what you created girl!

You had a very full weekend. I have to take a trip to Trader Joe's here in NY. I love mint tea. Especially Mint Iced tea.
Posted by: Lashell | March 17, 2008 at 09:58 AM
Happy BD Granma! Give her a big hug for me!
Looks like you're already keeping the kids buysy. I know how it is for Jaelyn, I was the girl in my house with the BIG feet. When most girls could wear their mom's shoes I could wear my dad's!! (still can).
You don't have a Trader Joes? I would CRY!!! If I ever planned a move out of state it would be around TJ's locations, seriously. You would lose your mind in that store, I know how you like to cook.

Please tell your grandma she is sharp as a tack! And I won't even say it about your mom (at first glance I was like, How nice. That must be a cousin of Adrienne's. She fools me every time!).
Love Jaelyn's shoes. You're right, they're perfect for her age, and for her style. Her coat is so cute, too.
God bless your kids for reading! You know I don't mind hearing that!

Wow what a cool weekend. Happy Bday to Grandma. Oh and I TOTALLY agree with you. Little girls need to stay little girls.

I love that your kids love to read so much...awesome!
My Gram turns 80 this year also :)

I completely agree with you about keeping little girls little girls. My daughters Easter dress is going to be a classic smocked dress. Very little girlish. It is getting so hard to find young girl clothing. At about size 7 it becomes teen age girlish. I am so glad that I can sew just as I am sure you are.
About a week ago I took my children to spend the last of their Christmas gift cards. I had been dreading it so I can totally identify with you.
Enjoy your Spring Break. We just had ours. I wish it could be a week longer. :)

Wow, seems like you had a great weekend!!!Enjoy your spring break!!!!! I cannot wait for mine next week. Oh, and that dress Jaelyn has on is too cute. Did u make it?????
Posted by: Tiffany | March 17, 2008 at 10:24 PM
I remember those Sunday outfits...years of buying and making them...years of arguments! *LOL* But so many precious memories...and now I have to beg them not to wear the jeans with the holes in them to church!
And who knew that one simple question about scraps would elicit so many wonderful answers! Thanks for adding yours!

What a GREAT weekend!!!! Jaelyn showed me her books Sunday afternoon and I have to say that she got some GREAT books!!! We spent about two hours in Barnes & Noble yesterday and were SO happy!!!! (My girls LOVE that place!! Plus...McKenna found a new makeup store in Ulta right next door to B&N...this was down in Tuscaloosa... and let's just say that she was in HEAVEN!!)

Posted by: Yolanda | March 18, 2008 at 08:26 PM
it's our spring break too and hubby took a vacation this week!
I enjoyed this post so much I don't even know where to start. 1) Happy belated 80th to grandma. She is wearing 80 honey! Your mom could pass as your sister, you know that right.
2) looka baby girl and her "heels" I remember my first pair. awwww
3) I love seeing siblings interacting with each other and not choking one another. That picture of your daughter helping your baby boy is PRICELESS.
oh and can you tell them to rub some of those reading vibes off on my child. The kid can read but don't like too. He did NOT get that from me! lol
Posted by: Trina | March 18, 2008 at 08:58 PM
It looks like you had a wonderful time! I can't say the same, lol, I was working on Saturday! On Sunday I was too tired to do anything but rest!
I LOVE Jaelyn's new shoes!!!!!
Posted by: Tany | March 19, 2008 at 05:48 PM
Happy Birthday Grandma! Grandma looks good! I love the pics of the kids. Tell Jaelyn I love her shoes!
Posted by: Rolana | March 19, 2008 at 07:21 PM
I've been away from the computer. Seriously, Jaelyn is rockin' those shoes (the apple doesn't fall far from the tree LOL!!!) Your shopping photos with the kids - too funny. Thanks for that look into the future now I see what I have to look forward too...
