Hi guys!! What day is it? Hope everyone is having a good week. Things are slowly coming back to normal around my house. I think Kayla was out too long today and now she is kinda pooped. Too much too soon. So back to taking it slow! Let's move on shall we?
This is my current knitting project...
Its the Lion Brand Cropped Raglan Sweater I think it's too big for the model. It looks really boxy on her.....
The yarn...It's Crystal Palace Cotton Flamme. I got a bag of it from Little Knits when I first learned of the site.
I also have a NEW flickr account. I started a new one for Ravelry, so if you recently added my older one (Bev and Maria, and a couple others) will you add this one? Thanks!!!
Here are a few progress shots. You can click the images to make them larger.
I cast on, Sunday...July 29th....
This is where I got to on Monday during Kayla's surgery.....
I love the texture of this yarn. Lovely. I will work on this again today so I can hopefully finish it by the weekend.
I went to Hancock with my partner in crime Erica today and we had fun. It's fun to be able to go shopping with someone that shares your same interests...there was much shopping to be done....I got....(some of this I got on my last trip, but I never posted it lol)
This brown is wonderful...it is going to make a lovely jacket.....
and this lovely lightweight denim. It has a little stretch to it and just a little sheen. I have a simple pants pattern that I am going to try with this. Muslin first. I need my pants to fit right. Not so tight that it looks like I am asking for a yeast infection, but not so loose to where it looks like I am swimming in them. So, I want it JUST right. :-)
and this lovely dark, dark blue number. This stuff is SO soft. This is going to make Vogue 8420
and this lovely number for M5322. I am hunting down some pleated ribbon for the front....similar to what is pictured on the front of the pattern cover.
and, I love this for Vogue 8410. I am going to make view A.
and this wool blend is going to make some wonderful wide leg pants...I have two patterns, just have to decide which one I am going to use.
and this beauty.....for McCall 5480. Now Erica seems to think I should make Vogue 7975 but ummm, I am not so sure about that. LOL She did say we could sew it together...ummm, I don't know. I might take her up on that though. lol
This is my jackpot fabric. This is THE softest....omg. And the great thing? IT WAS $1.45 a yard! Yes Ma'am it was! I bought it all.
Then there were patterns....I think I bought ABOUT 15 today for various fall stuff, so I dumped
them out on the floor....
and this isn't even all of them. There was a stack next to my dress form, that I some how missed...but with a little help from Kayla....
They are now all organized, with the pattern number on the outside of the box. Each company has their own box, so yay me. Hopefully I will be sewing soon. I have however been ordering sewing books....so that does count right? lol
Not to leave scrapbooking out of the picture...I picked up some of this today for some of my future pages....
Yes my dears, that is felt, and I can't wait to play with it. I also just ordered a BUNCH of older stuff....some BG rubons....Kraft CS...(I was running low) and I restocked my old Heidi Swapp stash....you know, since I use it so much and all ;-)....I also ordered some yarn....man, I'm going to have a GOOD mail week next week! Tee hee!
Well guys that is IT lol.
Toodles!
Oh man you're making me want to ORDER. STUFF. NOW. But I gots to chill 'cause I bought a sewing machine and I have to shell out to get my old one fixed. But there's some fabric I saw on eBay...

Felt is so hot right now in scrapbooking. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with it. And with all this sewing, knitting and god knows what else you do, you should open an Etsy shop!

Darn it, you've done it to me again. I just got Loop de Loop from the library to check out your last knitting project and now I've had to print out this cardi pattern. Good thing about this cardi though is that I already have the perfect yarn for it! Thanks!

HOW can you possibly be knitting those great works after just learning!!! I still have not learned to decrease! PLEASE tell me!
Posted by: Gina | August 02, 2007 at 03:58 PM
Those Singer books are over $40 a piece now...ohmygosh! I remember fretting over spending $14.99 each for them. You will love them! That series was some of the first sewing books that I bought and still refer to them now.
I am glad that you and Erica have the opportunity to sew together. Sewing is great alone but soooo much better with a friend!
Can't wait to see your finished garments!
