I have to say I MISS MY CHILD. My word. I didn't think I would miss her this much. There is certainly a void. I know she is coming back, but still. This is weird. I love my babies, don't know what I'd do if I couldn't see them all every single solitary day, for the rest of my life. BUT she was SOOOO Happy she was leaving!!!! Look at how goofy she looks! LOL
Moving on....Jaelyn and Kayla were my inspiration this week.
My girls love fashion, just like their mom. I love the realtionship I have with my daughters. Its SO easy to take people for granted, ESPECIALLY little people lol. So easy for me to tell them to leave me alone, I'm busy, and not listen to what they have to say. Have I done that before...YEP! lol, but it's also important to take time out to listen to your kids. Kayla and I had a long talk last night about how much she missed her sister, and she asked all kinds of questions, and it just touched my heart. I could have told her to go away so I could finish doing what I was doing, but then I never would have known what was on my baby's heart. I TREASURE the relationship I have with my mom. I TREASURE the relationship I have with my daughters. They are like sponges. They want to learn everything and YES THEY DO GET ON MY LAST NEVER sometimes, but I love teaching them, and taking time out with them. Just like my mom loved teaching me and taking time out with me. She still does. My mom and I go somewhere together, ALONE, every week. To the spa, to hancock. To Walmart lol. Just somewhere. I do the same with my girls. Not EVERY week, but from time to time, I take one on one time with them, then both together. I want them to love each other, learn to appreciate the people they have in their lives, because when they are gone, that's it. All you have is the memories. Ok...sorry...had to get that off my heart...back to IW! lol
Sunday the girls and I spent time looking at patterns online and some that I have in my stash. We have settled on these:
This one is for Kayla. Every wardrobe needs a basic denim skirt. I like how they used both denim and cotton...I will do my own take on this one!
This one is for Jaelyn:
She loves the fatigues...with the drawstring...The last time they went to hancock with me they saw some pink and khaki fatigue fabric. I will probably get that for them. Hancock has also started to put out their corduroy for fall, and they the same print and color scheme. It's really cute.
For Jaelyn and Kayla: They both want the purple dress. That hasn't been decided...YET, but they want it lol.
Jaelyn wants this one. Kayla said she didn't like it...she will change her mind once I start on Jaelyn's LOL.
I was also inspired by some new fabric from Fashionista Fabrics . Let me tell you. Toya sent me a link to this fabric store. I'd never heard of it.I am always kinda hesistant to try new stores....ESPECIALLY if I can't find any reviews. I couldn't. Sooo, I took a chance....and ordered. I ordered on the 21st and it came Monday. RIGHT after I ordered, I got a phone call....EXCELLENT service!!! GO ORDER FABRIC! Seriously! I love it.This fabric site, gets three snaps AND a twist! lol
It's for this dress.
I was inspired by new yarn for my February Sweater .
I will NOT recommend a store if I don't think it's good. I had the most pleasant dealing with this WONDERFUL EBAY STORE. Fantastic customer service and SUPER fast shipping. Great communication!! NO they are NOT paying me to say this, NOR do I get free yarn from them...I wish! LOL, but go check them out!!!
That's it you guys!! I won't be doing an IW next week! I will be out spending time with my family!! WOO HOO!! ROAD TRIP!!!! Hopefully my inspiration will hold out so I can get some stuff finished up!!! lol
Happy IW! Toodles!
You're making me tear up. *Sniff.*
I LOVE your yarn choice. It'll make a beautimous sweater.
Have fun on your road trip! We'll miss you next week.

It's beautiful that you miss her. It's beautiful that you let her go anyway. And it's wonderful that she is secure enough to do it!

That yarn is great - love the colors. I also like those kids' patterns and the dress pattern for you! The black/white dress they show on the upper right is what I was hoping for on the one I started yesterday...I'll have to get that one. What is the pattern #?

Aww..I would be missing Jaelyn too!! She's one of my favorite 11-year-olds. So cool!
Daughters are so special. I'm so glad i have three of them--and I truly try and appreciate each of them for the unique people they are. But I have to say, it is so nice when you get to that point where you can real conversations with them. Very cool!
I LOVE the Raven design. Delaney is VERY into Bermuda shorts like that these days!

What a sweet, sweet tribute to your daughters. I have a sister too...as you are aware. But we have NOTHING in common. I guess our 10 year age difference has alot to do with that. I wish we were closer. We were raised SO differently. I sometimes wonder if that was the same woman raising my sister that raised me :-). I mean, I was there...I saw it. But I'm not always 100% convinced :-).
My girls are over 16 years apart! They are as close as they CAN be...but I'm wondering how close they'll be as they get older. They love eachother to pieces and love spending time together. But they are SO different.
So, when are you coming here to take all of Jayla's measurements so you can get started on HER new wardrobe? LOL
