But I want to sew.....can you see my dilema???LOL.... I have three skeins of Brown Sheep Cotton Fleece in red. I need a pattern. What I thought I wanted to make, is not going to happen because I don't have enough yarn, and I don't want to buy any more. I do NOT want anything that is ALL Stst. Please don't kill me like that. Any suggestions are welcomed. I need to use it or sell it lol. I would much rather use it. I like the color lol.
I am still stuck on baby stuff. I bought Knitters Almanac for the sole purpose of getting the February sweater pattern. Here are some of my FAVORITE finished ones that I have seen.....
From Brooklyn Tweed (love this dude, no really I do lol) He loves photography AND knitting....the best of both worlds lol.
And if that isn't enough for you to look at.....try here Zimmermania. Yep...that's a lotta February Baby Sweaters!
I have really been eyeballing this top from Rowan.
They used Rowan Calmer.
I am FEELING THE CHOCOLATE OKAY!?!? At least its not black! LOL I like the color they did it in. I kinda wonder if the brown will be too dark for the design...any thoughts?
I am really ready to start knitting for the fall/winter. I know it's not even the first day of summer yet, oh wait...that's today right? But anyway....I have yet to knit a "full" size sweater and I don't know how long it's going to take me, so I need to start early.....right? lol I should have my Interweave Knits...ANY DAY NOW....so hopefully I will have some good fall inspiration!
I seriously need to finish my "other" brown garmet "Coco" but, I just walk past her and touch something else...like my hat. I haven't had a chance to work on it, because I have been sewing but I will finish it this weekend. I have NO mojo for COCO and I seriously do NOT want to knit Monica lol. I'm havine issues with Stst....its just boring. Now a good mindless knit is a good thing, but it gets boring so easy. Ugh.
Ok, enough rambling...ya'll have a good day!
Toodles!
I know what you mean... I need to knit too! Lately I've been through a "sewing mood"... But there should be a balance, isn't it? Hugs from Portugal!

Your mojo will come back sooner than you think. Finish your sewing and then take some quality time to finish coco.

I understand about need vs. want! LOL
I really like the other Zimmerman sweater....probably better than the surprise one! :o)
With all of the browns you have been lusting over, yes you are definitely in a fall mood! LOL
My 2 cents on the color for the Rowan patter. I think a lighter color would show up better.
Oh! If you can't find anything to knit up with your red brown sheep yarn I will buy it from you to knit up another Ms. Marigold! LOL....oh wait I might need one more ball though...
Another IW already?? I still need to get the summer one! No wonder I can't find it in AC Moore! Hahaha!

I still haven't finished my poncho!! Working on the 4th parth and then I need to knit the neck part. I hope to finish it before fall, haha

I do have my eye on the chocolate brown yarns, too. My love affair with brown (tan, and burgundy) started several years ago.
Stst can be kind of boring but I find ANY knitting so calming right now surprisingly it doesn't bother me that much.
Hope you get some mojo to finish because you don't need too many UFOs lying around. :)

I want to sew… but need to Knit.. sounds so familiar. I am on a sewing binge and at the same time I am trying to learn as much I can about knitting … geez.. I haven't touched my crochet projects... decisions… decisions. I checked out Brooklyn Tweed… love his stuff. I wish I could connect with him… I travel through Brooklyn everyday. Elspeth is really cute… the brown is nice, also spice is a really nice color too.

That little bolero jacket would be fabulous in the red cotton fleece. It'd be a year-round garment. I can see it over a summer dress or a velvet holiday dress. I vote for that.

ohhh, that baby sweater is so cute,, so cute,, I would love to see you knit that one up, and you have to finish COCO,,, lol,j/k, hey, you can always frog it and use the yarn for something that really calls to you.

Is that Lace work I see?

Funny, we are on the same page again . . . I am making the Elizabeth Zimmermann surprise baby Jacket this weekend. I have no idea who it's going to be for. Some creative knitters in the Zimmermania group have made adult sized jackets. That's my game plan, I will make the original pattern to get the steps down then make an adult size one after I know where to make adjustments. Kinda like knitting in muslin :)

Yep, know what you mean about the Summertime tunic--it might be a fall tunic by the time I finish it! I'm going to CO for a pair of socks soon, maybe today. Last day of school today, 1st day of summer, time for me and the kiddos to start having fun!
I love that pattern in Elspeth!

Lovin' the baby sweaters! Brooklyn Tweed is the best, always inspiring. I just listened to the new podcast on my morning run and it was great fun. Keep up the knitting.

I don't know if you got the "No Sheep for You" book, but if not you can still get the Tomato pattern for free! Just go here (http://www.knittingdaily.com/) and sign up for the newsletter. You will then have access to all the free patterns they have to offer. Wendy (http://knitandtonic.typepad.com/knitandtonic/2007/06/a_quick_note.html) posted about this yesterday.
I am so excited, because I really wanted to knit this top. I love those baby sweaters too! It seems like Elspeth would be more of a Springtime knit. Don't worry we'll find you something great to knit soon!

Yeah, Brooklyn Tweed's projects can really get you going. Elspeth is hot. I've always admired that pattern. Lately, I've been strongly considering Butterfly also from that same book.

BT sold me on the sweater, too. He's a real pusherman.

Elspeth is extremely cute - I saw someone wearing one that she made at Stitches Midwest last year and it looked great. I also LOVE Rowan Calmer - but I think that the chocolate brown will not show the detail of the design as well as a lighter color. How about a light green or blue?

You are awesome!

I want to knit the February Sweater too. I can't find enough time to finish the Baby Surprise which means it could be a while before I knit the next item!
Thanks for posting the link for Brooklyn Tweed. I clicked just so I could see what the yarn was that he used and ended up checking out so much more! His phots are beautiful and he makes great yarn choices!
