This may indeed be the LONGEST INSPIRATIONAL WEDNESDAY POST EVER!! So go get your breakfast, and your coffee and just relax lol. The new episode is up, you can click the IW LOGO under my picture on the left and go directly to the podcast.....
Fisherman's Shrug
This was my biggest inspiration this week. I was inspired to FINISH lol.
My version: Let's thank hubby for taking the pic. Please only look at the shrug. Ignore the fact that I don't match...my hair is a mess, and I look sleepy lol. Tony got off work VERY late last night and I had to get up and take this pic...moving on lol... Now, This pattern was labeled as EASY, which is why I got it, but BOY OH BOY, it was anything BUT that. I learned SO much from this pattern. FIRST I have to say thank you to Eve and Robin. I could NOT have finished this project without the two of you. I SERIOUSLY MEAN THAT!!!!!!! You two, helped me a TON. I got confused, then had lightbulb moments, and these two ladies shared it with me. I owe Robin a drink....here ya go..... Oh how about one more. You DESERVE it! LOL But I learned SO much. When dealing with patterns. MAKE SURE THEY INCLUDE SIZES. THe only two sizes provided with this pattern was medium or 1X. I thought the 1X would be TOO big, but without measurements, WHO KNOWS. I wish I would have made the 1X but I like this one JUST as much. I had so much I wanted to say about this pattern, but I can't even START on it. I learned how to ssk, make one, seam, knit in the round, pick up stitches lol. A LOT, so I am REALLY looking forward to my NEXT project. And you know it's too hot to wear this now right? LOL....I WILL wear it! LOL What's in my knitting bag??? 1.Guage checker 2.Tape Measure 3. Stitch holders 4.Row Counters 5.Cable Needles 6.Stitch Markers 7. Tapestry Needle 8.Scissors 9. GOOD BOOK! I TOTALLY recommend this! I love mine. 10. Point Protectors 11. Notebook for taking notes 12. Pattern Book Me in my two completed sewing projects.... I am going to ROCK This with some bronze wedges that I have....ummmm hmmmm lol and My craft room.... This is my room, before any changes took place..... DURING the process...... And after...... The little containers on top of the table hold my small notions...bobbins, thread, elastic....etc... Under the table is my fabric...all stored away nicely. I keep my scrap fabric in my sewing machine tote...the flowered bag.... In each of my fabric drawers, the pattern that I will use for that fabric is right next to it.... All patterns wating to be matched up with wonderful fabric are in this basket.... on the OTHER side of the table is my little cropper hopper thing. It holds my Die Cut machine and my pictures... This is my "extra" table. And the bookshelf. I STILL have to purge. But it is atleast CLEAN. I will purge as I go along lol.... This pile is STILL sitting in this SAME spot. This is giveaway/donate/trash stuff lol. And this is all the trash that came out of here. Just stuff. WOW. Here is the LO I was going to scraplift. Well it started as a scraplift then took on a mind of its own..... After a trip to my LSS, Scrap Etc I was SO WELL BEYOND INSPIRED!!! I came home with this... LOVE THE HUGE TAG!!!! LOVE IT!!! I got the new Allison Tyler Jones Book The new Bloom Book by the same guy that made the She Book. And the CUTE little notebook. It has one quote on the front, then the rest is a notebook. VERY cute!!!!! And of course..more Heidi Swapp GOodness....LOVE the playing cards..... I could not WAIT to get home and scrap! Here is my LO.... I used the Creative Imaginations and Bazzill PP. I think its called lpizzazzill lol, the new bazzill shaped cs. LOVE THIS STUFF!! HS mailbox stickers, playing cards (front and back of the cards), bling, and corner stamp. Ok guys. That is "IT" for me. I am DONE! LOL, tired. I have more LO's but you will have to wait until later to see them. This has gotten long enough lol. I will be out of pocket at the Scrap Etc Event. I look forward to meeting all of you that have emailed me! YAY!!! Have a GREAT IW! | |||||||||
I should know better than to come here on a Wednesday!!!! LOL, too much temptation. Love the shrug and I think it looks great with the brown t-shirt!

fabulous as usual!
Funny knitting story.
I was practicing, just getting comfortable with the knit and purl. Well I left my project out. fast forward - my 2 year old says, "here mommy" I turn away from the computer to look.. she brought me the knitting needles, without the work or yarn attached. My mouth just hit the floor.
Lov the shrug and LO
Have a great time at the event, I know it will be inspirational!

I LOVE the shrug. Adrienne, I think it fits you perfectly! They are supposed to be snug. I think if it was any bigger it would look frumpy. I didn't mind helping you at all (it was fun to see you learn all these new things) but thanks for the mention and especially for the drinks! You somehow must have known I love martinis LOL!
Love the finished sewing projects...you have to help me get my groove on in that area. I have all the tools, but can't get the motivation!
Great job with the organizing project! I need to do that again too!

Wow!!! What else can I say...That entry rocks! I am totally inspired by your shrug, banging dress, and comfortable shrug but I promised myself that I would get the scrapping thing down before I picked up another hobby.... Okay maybe I should start the sewing thing off simple... You are so not good for me!!! LOL That LO is awesome!! I can't wait to see the rest!!! The "craft" room is soooo organized... I can hardly wait to see what else is going to be created in here! Thanks for the inspiration!!!! Have fun at your scrap event....

Wow. That shrug came out so cool. I cannot wear stuff like that, looks terrible on my body type, but you look great in it... even if it was late!:) Your new dress and shirt are sweet too! Just looking at the shrug directions made me dizzy, I cannot imagine an acutal dress or shirt! Love you new reorganization. You can send me your pile of stuff you don't want anymore!!LOL...
Have fun at the Scrap Etc. I was so wanting to go to that this year. :( Can't wait to hear about it though!!

Your shrug looks amazing!!! You are getting very good at it. Wish I had some of your talent. By the way, i love that blouse you made. It's so colourfull. It makes me happy.
Waw, you have a scrapstore close to your home. I need to drive 30 km to get to the closest. Wish scrapbooking was more popular in Belgium. Have a wonderful day!!

Wow, Adrienne, that shrug turned out awesome. I can't believe that was an Easy project. But you did it and it turned out fantastic. I love the dress and the shirt too. You are a very multi talented crafter. I don't know how you do all the stuff that you do. I totally need to clean out my craft room too. I'm such a pack rat I can never find anything to purge even if I know I will probably never use it. You know there may be that 1% chance that I will need it! Ha! I can't wait to hear your Inspiration Wednesday program. I will listen to it on my iPod on my way home from work. Have a great day!

Okay, first off I'm totally clueless about all that knitting stuff so it kinda ran together in my brain--LOL!!!--but the shrug turned out gorgeous. And that's what matters to us non-knitters, right? I LOVE it!!
And I love your layout. SO cute! Especally love how you used the "2" on the playing card in your title! I have also been inspired lately and have actually done several LOs that I really like!

I love the shrug! It is so cute and it is great you learned new things. It can be frustrating but that is how you become a better knitter! So, congrats. The orange dress is soooo pretty! Love the color.
Now, you have also inspired me to re-organize my "craft" area. Really, it is a knitting area. Just need to find the time.

Love the shrug! Honestly, you do it more justice than the REAL model -- maybe because it "highlights" your beautiful brown skin! And love your hair! As well as all your other lovely creations... Have lots of fun at the ScrapEtc. event!

Hello fellow KH'er! I LOVE the shrug you've made - I bought the very same magazine to make that shrug, and you should feel so proud to have it done. Visiting your blog was such a treat, seems we have much in common, 2 girls, scrapbooking, knitting, a love of photography, "sistahood" :) I hope to add sewing to the list one of these days too. Keep at it, you're doin' it!
Posted by: Marce | March 14, 2007 at 09:03 PM
I thought you were a beginner knitter? There is no way I could produce something like that!
A clean scrap room is a healthy scrap room...send all those left over goodies to me c/o....:)
