Thanks for all the well wishes...I Feel a LITTLE better, but I'm still VERY stuffy and sound very much like my brother....aka, A MAN. ugh lol
For all you knitters.....what do you do about SUCH DRY HANDS!?!?!?!? The moisture is being COMPLETELY sucked out of my hands!!!!! OMG.
I got my yarn for my sweater...
I'm going to try and get the right guage this weekend. You should have seen me FLYING home, trying to get that LAST bit of sunlight to take this picture lol, I love natural light lol
If you forgot....I'm making this. I'm not going to make a full turtleneck. I do live in Alabama, but this yarn is SOOOOOO soft. Its burroco touche. Cotton blend. THe correct name escapes me right now lol
I went to Hancock yesterday and got......
The pink poplin will turn into....
Simplicity 4112 I thought the buttons were really pretty. You know I don't have a pink shirt? Well not YET! LOL, and I am going to make this top twice lol, I have some white that this is going to look good in. A parisian lace, that I actually forgot I had...oops. Can't start doing that now can I?
And this polka dot linen will turn into.....
Butterick 4985 View B I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these buttons. I am going to match this linen up with a solid for some capri's/ guachos. I can SO see this with some brown wedge sandals. Yep.... I might do these over the weekend.
I have a new addiction. Well two. Well three, but two of these are free.......
I knew I was addicted to bloglines, but I didn't REALLY know how much until the other day. I check that site like a thousand times a day. And on Monday's I am ALWAYS on flickr. OMG. WOW. SO much stuff out there. OMG. It's a DANGEROUS place lol
The third addiction, I blame COMPLETELY on Toya. LOL...I was OKAY until she told me about www.aduible.com OMG. Now I am hooked on audiobooks. Thanks girlie! Tee hee LOL!! Right now I am listening to Knitting by Anne Bartlett. It's very good.
I also need some new movies for my netflix list....any recommendations???? I like allllll types of movies, well except scary....I don't do scary. AT ALL.
I got an email from Olivia asking about my "organizational" skills. How I am able to do all that I do. Well, that is an INVOLVED question, BUT I will answer it to the best of my ability.
You all know that I have "several" things I love to do...sew, knit, scrap, blog, podcast (tee hee), I will take a knitting class from time to time, not to mention, doing things for the kids, the hubby, taking care of the house, time for "ME" doing NOTHING,lol <---------------that hardly EVER happens lol, BUT below is how I get it done.
- I MAKE LISTS! I mean ALL the time. If I need to get it done, I put it on a list. If I don't put it on a list, you can bet your bottom dollar that it will NOT get done. My PHONE has to be the best multi-device EVER. Not only do I get my email ALL DAY, ALL NIGHT, and ALL the time, but I can also make lists, and REMINDERS to check the lists. I tell you it HELPS. It also helps me keep track of any meetings and appointments that I may have. Tee hee, I also program it around Hancock sales....tee hee
- I DELEGATE! I have three well bodied children. They ALL have chores to do. My oldest does the laundry for her and her sister. Now, I got SO tired of them coming home from school, changing clothes, putting on "in the house clothes", then taking a bath, and all of that went into the hamper. THAT ADDS UP!!!!! Then they would clean their room, and if they had laundry that they hadn't put up, it went into the dirty laundry hamper. NOPE. Couldn't do it anymore. Now I do my laundry, hubby's, and Aj's. That's it. My 7 yr old will fold the laundry and put it away. Aj, tries to fold the towels. He DOES try lol. The girls do the small dishes. Jaelyn washes, and Kayla rinses and puts them on a towel. Aj just tries to stay out of the way. I do all the big stuff, well, the dishwasher does it.
- I COOK IN THE MORNINGS. NOT all the time, but most of the time I will get up and put dinner on for that day. I normally get up around 3:30 or 4. NORMALLY. Here lately, I've been cooking in the evening so I can sleep later lol. If I cook in the evening, it is for the next day and I "TRY" to cook enough for a couple of days. That does not always happen. Then some days Tony will cook. That is awesome.
- I am a stickler on TIME. Once we get home in the evenings...NORMALLY around 5:30 I only have a certain amount of time to make sure the kids homework is done and done right. By that time of the day, thier attention span is about gone. And with good reason. So normally by 6:30 we HAVE to be done with homework, or they get silly and well you know lol. Sometimes they eat dinner while doing their homework. It just depends on what they are doing. If I have to do something in the kitchen, Kayla will read to me while I am doing it. I swear I am the queen of multi-tasking lol.
- THE KIDS GO TO BED ON TIME! Bed time is NORMALLY at 8. Maybe a little earlier, but NEVER later than that. ESPECIALLY on Thursday nights lol. The girls get up at 5:00 or 5:30 every morning. It takes them FOREVER to get ready, so they get up, do their thing, eat breakfast, and pick up their rooms. That cuts down on what they have to do in the evenings. They like as much free time as they can possibly have. Aj gets up at 6. He is EASY lol.
- Once the kids are in bed. That is MY time. Now SOMETIMES after homework is done, I can go my merry little way and do whatever. ESPECIALLY when hubby is on night shift. Oh boy, I get so much done. When hubby is on day shift and we are home at the same time in the evenings, I spend time with him. Watching movies ( you know you can knit while you do that right? ;-), and that type thing lol.
- I do a LOT on my lunch. A LOT. I can cram more into one hour than some people can in an entire day lol. I have been known to go to Target and get dinner on my lunch, bring it to work and put it in the fridge until it's time to go home. I can NOT tell you how much time this saves lol. During Christmas time.....I get a LOT of my shopping done. ON MY LUNCH!
And that really is about it. Well all that I can think of anyway. I think it's such a way of life for me, that I don't really give much thought to it. Now I know I could improve in a LOT of ways, but this is life and it is a learning experience. Besides, its OKAY :-) :-) my life really doesn't have a script...tee hee Dang this got really long....lol
Hope you guys have a fantastic weekend!!!!!!!
Wow I tought I made my dd go to bed early at 9 but 8 is great, but she doesn't get up until 7am.

the yarn is so beautiful, I'm so happy you chose an orange, it will look great. Audible is the bomb, I mean, goodness knows I rather scrap than read a book,, so now I get both,,,, at the same time,, SWEET!

Thank you for letting us in on your time managing skills..LOL, too funny that you can do so much in a the alotted time. I might try to get me a timeable crock pot. It will cure all that, " When and what we are going to eat" My husband can't do much of anything except bug me. That will eliminate him bothering me when I am trying to sleep. Midnights are a cool shift but when you don't get your rest; look out. I am up because I am off for five days. I went to sleep early, no Grey's until next week. Boo Hoo!! You should start making scarves to sell, I would definitely buy a AE original. Have a great weekend!!

I hear you on the list thing - I make lots of lists, and then lists of lists. It feels so good to check something off!
You are really organized, and always moving, going and working on something!

My dream is to be organized one day, sigh. I totally understand your addiction problems. I need to check out audible.com because I need more addictions!
Posted by: Katrine | March 09, 2007 at 09:23 AM
I love it! Thank you so much :) I'm already making my list(s)! I'll let you know how it goes!! :)

Love all the fun stuff you are making. You are on a roll girlie!
Have a great weekend!
Posted by: Tawnya | March 09, 2007 at 10:27 AM
in my book, that is very organized! i am so unstructured, and so are my kids...we need to do something about that. they have chores, and know what things they are suppoed to do, but wait to be told. that bothers me a bit. i have a knitting question. i have seen so many people who start knitting for the first time get the tension right almost immediately. i always have a "loose" look. what size needle and yard did you start out with? i was taught on size 11s. kinda big, but you can see results faster. what are our thoughts? what is a good size to start with?
have a great weekend!
Posted by: lisa | March 09, 2007 at 10:49 AM
Yeap, you sound a lot like me --except I don't cook or knit or have nearly as much talent as you :)
Thanks for sharing your "secrets"
It all works out when you manage time correctly --and you certainly do!
Oh, and for your hands, AVEENO hand lotion. You will love it! I've been using it since CZ recommended it a while back and I'm in love! It really is an amazing lotion!

You get up arond 4????
and to think I only go to bed a few hours earlier!
Posted by: Kitty Foster | March 09, 2007 at 11:33 AM
I know what you mean by power lunches. I seriously miss that here.
Posted by: renee | March 09, 2007 at 11:54 AM
My, Adrienne, you sound a lot like me. I am on a schedule and when that is thrown out of wack so is my whole day. My children as small as they are have chores that they do. Children need structure and I am a firm believer in providing it. I accomplish a lot on my lunch hour, too. I laughed because I have been known to run to the store during my luch, pick a few things and use the fridge in the building. Most days I don't make it home until 5:30 or six. I hit the garage door running preparing dinner and what not because 8:00 is bedtime for my little ones, too, so everything has to be done by then. My time is from 8:30 until 10:30. I am a night owl so I get a lot of things done while they are asleep. As I sit here and think about all of the things I do, it seems like so much, but I just do what I have to do. I definitely take care of my home and my family.
I love the fact that your oldest daughter does the laundry for her and her sister. Wow, I am impressed!!!!
Posted by: Tiffany | March 09, 2007 at 12:00 PM
Wow... organization is definitely the key to a successful day. Ohh.. I had to laugh at the part about cooking in the morning... I remember those days so clearly up @ 4:00AM - dinner completed no later than 5:30am... 5:35am - exercise.... 5:50 - wake up hubby & daughter... and out the house no later than 7:15am.. Now I am Pressure Cooker fiend... I darn near use it everyday or at least every other day and dinner is completed in 50 minutes...lol

See, I KNEW you were Superwoman!!!!!!! I always loved this stuff called "Aquaphilic" NOT Aquaphor, that is like vaseline. The aquaphilic is white cream. (you have to go to the pharmacy and aske them to order it for you, even though it is not perscription) It is great for healing up dry skin... take it from me as mine were a mess when I used to do hair full time!! :) I am glad to hear I am not the only one who makes their kids do chores! My boys wipe the potty and mop, and help with laundry!!

Posted by: Lisa D. | March 09, 2007 at 10:37 PM
I make lists too and I love them even though my hubby is always laughing at them I find they work so well. I love the idea of cooking in the morning though I don't know about getting up at 4 to do so, good on you girl. I thought I was good getting up at 6:30 to do yoga before I have to start my day but you put me to shame :)

Hey. Try some Knitter's Little Helper. It's by Blue Sky Alpacas. It's wonderful.

You can get it at http://www.jimmybeanswool.com and a bunch of other places.
Did you get my e-mail with the pattern help last weekend?

Great time management tips!!! I too make loads of lists and LOVE bloglines!
Posted by: Jane | March 11, 2007 at 11:02 AM
I love Audible.com - my favorite audiobooks so far have been Memoirs of a Geisha and Snow Flower and the Secret Fan. My iPod is doing something funky and I am just about flipping out - I think the new version of ITunes messed up my ipod somehow.
Love your time management tips - I think those are great ideas. So many people complain that they have no time to do what they want to do, but if they followed your advice they would make time! Great that your kids have chores and go to bed on time - you sound like a great mom!
Love that butterick pattern - it has taken me awhile to get used to the puff sleeves but I think they are going to be everywhere if not already. Can't wait to see how that project turns out!
Posted by: Robin | March 11, 2007 at 10:14 PM
Wow! I'm so impressed with your daily schedule. I've been thinking that I really need to make some sort of weekly list. Somewhere along the way I'm just repeating the same things but without any efficiency. But you're right, I do seem to do better if I have a to-do list around. :-)
Posted by: Tami | March 12, 2007 at 12:03 AM
Hey girl!! that's how you get'er done!!
I'm waiting for Monday's update!! ha ha!! I see your Fisherman's Shrug is almost done!!

I am a total multitasker too, but cooking in the morning...wow...the most I can do is cook some on the weekends...
I have to ask where the energy comes from?
