My Studio 2012...the process.

Man, I was cleaning off my phone and found these pics:

Man, I felt like this was the longest process EVER.

The next HUGE thing I want to do before the year is over is to put my patterns in numerical order. lol

After allllllllllll the talk about my studio I did here I am FINALLY finished!!!

I love bookshelves. I was going to put shelves on the wall in this little nook but decided against it. This one holds a varitety of things as you can see lol.

 

 

Most of my scrapbooking stuff. I WILL scrapbook again. I just need to DO IT lol

 

 

This shelf holds mainly fabric, a few books and a small tv. The tv will be gone soon. I'm getting a flatscreen for the wall.

 

 

This shelf holds my scrapbook albums and more fabric lol. HURSH.

 

 

My flatscreen will actually go here. I guess I go pick one up soon. That will make more space on my shelf for fabric lol

 

 

My "work" table and my ratty chair. I got this from my mom years ago and I refuse to get rid of it. I might recover it though lol

 

 

Last one... I LOVE my file cabinet. LOVE IT. It holds all my patterns. ONE of these days I'm going to put them in numerical order. Right now they are by pattern company.Oh and that's Gizmo's bed lol. He likes to take naps while I sew lol.

There you have it! I ***LOVE*** my space!!!! We are still doing some small cosmetic things to the house but it's ALMOST done. YAY!

So, y'all know I'm working on getting my house back together after all the renovations.

THIS is a job lol.

I feel like I've just moved into a new house. BOXES EVERYWHERE lol.

I'm still organizing my kitchen/dining room/pantry lol, so the next room I do will be my studio.

Remember THIS post? Wellllllllll all of that has kinda changed. I think I've found something that will work even better for me.

I was like eeeeeek! I LOVE it!

Y'all see the bookcase? This little "nook" is behind my door. I'm going to get a better picture of it:

I can put shelves on BOTH walls and still be able to leave my door open all the way up.

DOUBLE space. If you ask me and that leaves my other wall open for other things lol.

I'm still going to make a version of THIS

table. It will be a little taller and NOT as long. Kinda like THIS

one.

Lowe's/ Home Depot and Target carry these cubes so I'm going to price check them and see who has the best deal.

I STILL need to go to IKEA, but not for that bookcase. Funny how you think you realllly want something and it's not exactly what you need. I just got a spiritual meaning out of that one. WHOA. Post on that coming soon lol.

Operation "New Studio"

Mannnnn this has been a LONG time coming. This is part of the reason I haven't been doing any sewing. That's a WHOLEEEEEEEEEEEEE 'nother entry lol

Wellllllllllllll, things are finally coming together. Stuff was moving S L O W now all of a sudden it's moving SUPER quick.

I have 13 days to get it all done. Let's see how that works out lol.

Between now and next week I will either roll real quick to Atlanta so I can go to IKEA and get this Expedit bookcase, or let my brother bring it to me when he comes home. I'm super impatient right about now so I need to decide QUICK. I was going to just order it and let them ship it but WHY is shipping $299?? O_O WHY can't they participate in free shipping friday?? LOL Anyway, here is the bookcase:

I have been wanting one of these things for YEARS. Just never got it lol. Welllllll, I'mma get me one now lol. I was going to do a wall of shelves, but I just don't want ANYTHING else on my walls. EVER lol. This stuff that they CLAIM you can put on the wall and not mess it up? ALL LIES!!!!! LOL Just tore up my poor sheetrock lol.

So this will be my fabric storage. I'll be able to see it, keep it nice and neat and if it doesn't fit in here....then...I'll probaby get some hidden storage lol.

I REALLY need to measure this to make sure it won't overpower my room. I LOVE it. Tony has given me the go ahead to do this but I need to go measure the doors and make sure it will work in my space.

I'm going to keep my filing cabinet but it will go between the two windows.

My piano will go downstairs so that opens up the wall for my bookcase.

I'm still undecided about the tables along the back wall. I may keep them. I'll need atleast one to sew on. I plan on using the table in the middle of the room as a cutting/work table. I'm also trying to decide of I'll mount my huge self healing mat on it. It all depends on the measurements

YES I know this is a personal decision. I just have no idea where to start so I'm open for suggestions. Maybe you guys will have an idea that will start the wheels turning in my head.

The table next to the piano is gone. That is where my patterns are now.

Off the top, that horrid wallpaper border is coming down, the carpet is coming out, will pick a new color for the walls, I do NOT want white. I need a happy color lol.

Y'all keep asking me to take pics of my studio so here they are lol. I took these the other day.

 

  

 

And there you have it. Nothing major lol. That clothes basket has the fabric in it that needs to be cut for my upcoming projects (post on that coming soon lol)

Nooo I did not knit the green sweater lol.

The bookshelf that is between the two windows is gonna come down. I need to get a small table to put there for my embroidery machine.

This is going to be a GREAT year! I can FEEL IT!!!!  So are you ready to see my new studio!?!? Yes, I now have a "Studio" doesn't that sound great!?!? LOL I LOVE my neatly organized room. I can account for EVERY piece of scrapbook paper, EVERY embellishment, every pattern and notion!!!! I have a lot of stuff that I am going to give away so look for that soon! Ok...let's get started!

I decided to put my thread on the wall so I could see it easier...Kayla put the colors in order lol.

I LOVE this thing!!!! I have ONE roll of adhesive for my ATG gun left...y'all know I gotta order a case RIGHT NOW! LOL I have issues with running out of stuff!

The Clip It Up is THE best thing ever. I do NOT know why I waited SO long to get this!!!! I will post some new LO's soon and I have used products I FORGOT I HAD!!! THIS IS JUST GENIUS! I can see ALL my stuff! Well, MOST of it...Heidi Swapp still has a couple storage boxes dedicated to her lol.

More scrap and yarn storage.....I have a stash now huh? LOL

This is where I keep my Sizzix (kids use this for school all the time), photos, patterns (organized by type, NOT company like I had them, and my fabric).

That's it guys! It may not be much to you, but I totally love it!

People are always emailing me asking me what books I have  in my library. Tomorrow I will post and try to link EVERY sewing, knitting, and photography book that I have in my library. Should be fun :-) LOL
