One side is solid and the other side is metallic. Of COURSE I want to use the metallic side and maybe the solid side as contrast or something.

Pattern Description: MISSES' TOP, TUNIC AND SASH: Very loose-fitting, pullover tops A, B, tunics C, D have bateau neckline and stitched hems. A: armhole flounce. B: contrast appliques and ends of sash. C, D: side slits. D: contrast above wrist length sleeves.

Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't use them.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love simple tunics.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I probably will make this one again in silk. It's a great pattern to showcase some fabulous fabric.

Conclusion: Great pattern. VERY easy. I normally don't make fabric belts but I wanted a big bow lol.

Man.

Summer is the busiest time of the year for me. Well, and holidays lol.

I've been busy getting everything in order for the kids to go back to school in less than THIRTY DAYS

*and the angels sing*

Seriously.  This summer has went by so quickly!

I've been sewing up a storm for my self and the girls. I know I have 3 or 4 things I need to review. I already have the pictures lol, just need to do a post lol.

My photography & my spa business have been keeping me busy as well. I love it! God has truly blessed my hands.

I've also started doing something I said I would NEVER do. More on that later lol. I'm learning to NEVER EVER EVER say what you won't do lol.

I ordered some yarn and purchased a cute top pattern. Can't wait to start on that.

Going out of town in about 13 days or so and I am SO not ready. Not really trying to sew new stuff for this trip but just the amount of things I have to get done BEFORE I go is insane.

I need another "me".

I am in serious need of a girls trip, or an alone trip. Something so I can "reset Adrienne". I was supposed to go somewhere in October but that isn't happening and it almost broke my spirit when I found out I couldn't go, but I know all things work together for MY good.

This is quickly turning into a ramblings post lol.

Amazon free prime trial has me ordering books every day seems like. I like getting a package every two days. Free shipping is FUN lol.

Alright that's it. Look for some photo dumps that I've had on here as a draft for the longest lol.

The Good Wife's Guide:Embracing Your Role as a Help Meet

I saw this book being talked about in internet land and I decided to go ahead and read it to see what all the hype is about.

I LOVE how biblical this book is. There are NOT a whole lot of books out there that you can really relate to in today's society. This one really fit the bill.

I love anything that will help me be a better wife (have NOT always been a good one, let me say that first lol) and that's biblical. I think if you are JUST now starting to take the approach of doing things God's way in your marriage this is a great book.  I also think it is great for newlyweds that desire to do things God's way.

I did pick up a few good things from this book but a lof of it I am already doing. There was nothing "earth shattering" for me, but like I said I did pick up a few good tips.

It was a quick read and easy to understand.

I say pick this one up if you are interested in becoming a better wife using biblical standards.

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? I didn't even look at them.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love tunic style tops. Nothing to dislike.

Pattern alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I just might make this one again in a solid.

Conclusion: Great pattern VERY quick & easy. I'm all about that right now lol.

I used a clear button and I did NOT do a button hole. Took the easy way and just sewed it down lol.

These four books have been WONDERFUL! It has been a LONG time since I have seriously had the desire to read. I guess I go through these phases, but these have gotten me back into my reading.

They are SO good. Each book leaves you wondering what happened next. If you need a good read, I highly recommend these. They were EXCELLENT.

I seriously can not wait until the next book comes out!

Sewing: Needs vs. Cute

I just cleaned my closet and my dresser drawers. Like REALLY cleaned them out.

I have a LOT of clothes but not many basics.

I don't NEED another black, white or black & white skirt.

I don't NEED another dress.

I don't NEED another denim jacket.

I don't NEED another cardigan (I am SERIOUSLY addicted to these lol)

I NEED some colored skirts (epecially pencil skirts)

I NEED some button down blouses.

I NEED some jackets/blazers.

I NEED some khaki, black, white trousers.

I NEED some casual tops.

I have pulled out a few things to sew. So I'm going to do those then do a few more. I NEED more separates. Yep. GOTTA have them.

How do you determine what you NEED when sewing or what's just cute?

YES!
Were the instructions easy to follow? Very easy for the top. I didn't really look at the skirt instructions. It's just a simple pencil skirt.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I love how on trend this pattern is.

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I do plan on making this top again.

Conclusion: Great pattern. I decided to use the same/color fabric for the top and the skirt. It gives the illusion of a dress when it's really two pieces.
