I hate that taking a garment to the dry cleaners to get a zipper replaced cost so damn much, sometimes costing more than the item actually cost...hate that.

I love, love, love to sew by hand.

I don't know how to make a welt pocket but I will.

I will trace a pattern always.

I ain't sewing for other people. Period. End of discussion.

Marking patterns gets on my last nerve.

Good post Adrienne....Why is it that whenever I tell someone that I made what I'm wearing, they automatically either say "oh good, I have some things that I need you to alter for me", or "I need you to make me a (fill in the blank)". And then they get ticked when I tell them no. Sewing is my HOBBY that I do for MYSELF, and I refuse to let anyone turn my form of relaxation into a burden or a dread. Period!

I sometimes take my clothes to the tailor to finish off my projects...I love starting it but I get bored after a while. I KNOW, I KNOW I am a perpatrator. I just need it to get them done!

I dont' feel like sewing if my sewing room is in a mess.
I always check the pattern pieces sometimes to determine if I will be making the pattern or not, because I get overwhelme sometimes with too many pattern pieces.
Thanks for the post, shows am not alone, not sure if I want to sew for hubby....

-Sewing in sleeves always makes me nervous. I took like 2 weeks to research and practice all of the methods across the board and can do it to perfection. But I still can't help having that nervous feeling! LOL! And to the contrary, I am one of those weird people who likes to sew for others.

I hate sewing buttonholes.
I am scared of my serger and don't use it! (LOL)
I sweat while I work with knits.
I will never reach sewing "couture level"!
I love sewing for my daughter.
I love sewing aprons.
I love buying novelty print cotton fabrics.
I could crochet all day and night if I didn't like sewing too! (LOL)

I hate cutting out patterns. Sigh. This may not seem major but I get so nervous that if I mess it up while cutting it, I'm going to mess it up while sewing it.

Measurements. I am horrible in math but I know an important part of sewing a great fitting item are the measurements. Now. I just put it on and fit accordingly. Screw the numbers, I can wing it.

I don't like to sew for other people either. BUT... I will sew for my guy. He is always so appreciative of anything I make for him.

And as far as hand sewing goes.... Mas o menos.

Always love reading your stuff. I don't sew for other people and make no bones about it. I did make my husband one pair of pj pants. I'd like to make him a dress shirt before the year is out...we'll see. Unlike you I want to make everything I wear including underwear. I wish I could make shoes although I love buying them.

I avoid hand sewing at ALL COSTS!

I make scrubs for my mom but that's where it ends as far as other people.

I love looking at other folks "couture" but I have NO INTEREST in doing it.

I like polyester. There I said it.

We are a lot alike. There are some sewing techniques I have no desire to learn, either. And I definitely don't have to sew everything I wear (not that I am doing that right now anyway). I think you have found a nice place of balance.

Oh, and people always want you to sew for them when they learn you can sew!!! When I told a group of women that I like to sew, one of the lady's eyes lit up as she said "Oh, do you think you could make me a nice top?" Uh, no, but if you want, I can teach YOU how to make YOU a nice top = ). GEEZ!!

Adrienne, I sense that you are holding something back. Tell us how you really feel, lol

OK here is my list I LOVE to cut patterns out, measure, adjust them and make muslims go get the fit just right. Now after all of that I am done and do not make the pattern with the fabric I purchsed. This has to stop lol I do not under any circumstances like to sew for others. It is not relaxing and I feel pressure to get things perferct and most people do not know what a good fit is they want things to tight or short .

Something looked hideous on you???? I even went back through your blog. If you feel cute in it, then that's all that matters. Yes?

I hate having to make Muslims.
I hate having to trace the big 4 patterns because I haven't got my sizing down yet.
I'm scared of my serger.
I like to think about sewing and dream about what I could make more than actual sewing sometimes.
I like cutting out patterns, I hate marking.
My girls beg me to sew for them but I don't wanna lol!

Muslins not Muslims damn auto correct lol

I like sewing for fashion shows when I make all the clothes to fit me!!!

I don't like hemming.

I used to like making dresses, but for some reason, I don't like making dresses anymore. I like making tops and skirts instead.

I can't stand sewing in a messy room.

I don't like sewing when it feels like work. Nor do I like alterations, although, i will alter for the money.

I hardly ever make a muslin.

I don't like putting in zippers. It seems like I used to put them in better years ago, now they seems more difficult for me, especially the invisible ones.

I like sewing by hand. It forces me to slow down and not multitask.

And sewing for people? A big fat NO!
