Is this not gorgeous!!?!?!? I am already ready to buy my fabric! LOL I know which color scheme I want to go with so wooohoooo. I think this next one will be a gift for my mommy :-) I want to make one for my grandma and my kids and 2 speciallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll friends lol. "IF" I have time. We will see :-) AND If I really enjoy doing it lol.
We are still in Orlando and I found a quilt shop not far from our hotel...soooooooooooooo I'm going to see if I can talk Tony into taking me lol. Shouldn't be too hard ;-) I don't think I've ever been in a "quilt" store so I'll see how this goes.....
If you guys have any info that will be useful to me about quilting....forums, websites...ANYTHING I'd love to have some good reading material :-)
Thanks!!!
Toodles
I finished a small wall quilt recently. Quilting is fun. I could easily become obsessed. I'm going to keep on eye on this post to see the responses.

I have been a quilter for the last eight years. If you enjoy quilting, I would advise you to join a quilt guild. Ask around in your local fabric store about any guilds in your area. These are fun because you get to see new and exciting techniques as they often bring in guest and other educators. I went on a quilt retreat with my guild in Hawaii(on the beach) it was fantastic. Some have their own quilt shows and you get to meet a wonderful group of new and exciting people.

Hi Adrienne! While you are there visit The Sewing Studio in Maitland. I'm from Florida and used to shop there all the time!

Ha, ha! My friend has been on a quilt kick too, and she made one similar to this. Maybe one day I'll catch the quilt bug!

My goodness adding yet another specialty to your repetoire! I love quilts but not quite ready to tackle it. I'm taking a beginning sewing class this weekend...again. Anyway, not sure if you're familiar with http://lisatutmanoglesby.typepad.com/ but she reminds me of you. She does gorgeous quilts, sews and scraps....and a bunch of other stuff I'm sure she doesn't have time to blog about! LOL
Enjoy Orlando!

That's a really cute quilt. Here are a couple of sites that you might enjoy: Marcia Hohn's Quilter's Cache http://www.quilterscache.com/ has a gazillion quilt block patterns with instructions; some are tradional and some are her original patterns. There's also an inspiration photo gallery with completed quilts. Konstantin Goudkov's Quilted Paradise http://www.quiltedparadise.com/ is a free weekly newsletter you can sign up for. There's also an online chat, a message board forum, and thousand of pictures of finished quilts and WIPs. Check them out; I think you might enjoy them.

Love that pattern. I found a quilt shop that has a Thursday night get together and they finally hooked me into quilting. I did a queen sized Turning 20 as my first project. Messed it up (the easiest pattern ever!) but I sleep under it every night! Try to find a place that you can take a class - great for tips and tricks so you don't have to learn the hard way. or wrong way!
