Fabric: Cotton
Pattern Description:
Loose fitting, above ankle dress has raised waist, dirndl skirt and front button closure
Pattern Sizing:
7-12
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes only shorter.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn't use them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
Really quick and simple. Loved it.
Fabric Used:
Cotton
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
I made the dress shorter because at the pattern length it made Kayla look frumpy lol.
Instead of four buttons I only used three. My daughter picked the biggest most sparkly buttons she could find. She loved it lol.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I highly recommend this pattern. I had no problems with it and made it in a couple hours last night.
Conclusion:
Great pattern!!!
Butterick 5335
Pattern Description:
Close-fitting top B has raglan sleeves and stitched hems.
Pattern Sizing:
16-22
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn't use them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I love this top. Very simple.
Fabric Used:
A polo type knit. I don't know how else to describe it lol.
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
None. I will say that this top IS VERY CLOSE FITTING. I normally make a 14 top and had to make the 18! My bust is a 38.5 and the finished measurements for the 18 was a 39.5 I don't like anything really, really fitted aka TIGHT on me so I'm glad I made the size I did.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
This will become a TNT top.
Conclusion:
Quick easy top. Love it.
PATTERN GONE WRONG! LOL
Vogue 8587
The skirt I'm wearing was a pattern gone wrong.
This was wrong on SO many levels. SO not a flattering style on me. AT ALL LOL. I almost didn't show the picture, but it is what it is lol.
Anyway, instead of trashing it like I was going to, a good, good, good friend of mine talked me into making a skirt ;) . I LOVED the fabric and couldn't find anymore of it, so I made a simple elastic waist skirt.
They can't all be winners lol. I did learn that this STYLE anything does NOT look good on me. AT ALL lol.
Toodles!

Y'all look like SPRING!
Very cute ; )
Glad you didn't trash your skirt lol

Adrienne I love reading your blog. The good thing about making goofups when sewing is you learn so much and sometimes goofups serve to get our creative juices flowing. As usual I love your shoes!

Great looking dress, top and skirt (very clever fix: make it into a skirt, lol!).
Today it's really hot in here; I'm feeling a bit guilty because I should be at the beach, lol!

Your daughter looks so cute in her dress! I just bought some yellow similar to that for my granddaughter. Your top and skirt look great! Glad you didn't throw it away.

Your baby girl looks so sweet in her dress! I like your skirt and top, so summerly. But girl, those shoes! I am so loving those shoes.

Kayla looks adorable and it shows she loves her dress.... too cute.
Cute top and looks great with the skirt. At least you were able to salvage the dress.

So cute. That skirt is perfect, glad you didn't trash it.
Your daughter's dress would make a cute denim jumper for later in the year.
Love your layouts in the next(prev) post too.
Now off to trying to get it together for a six week assignment in 1000 Oaks, CA.
Keep up the great work.

Your daughter is too cute in her mommy made dress! I love the skirt version a lot better. Very nice fix! You are amazing. I am single, without and kids, and I can't or should I say don't get half as much done as you. Thanks for the birthday wish on my blog.

Good save on the dress.

And I must say that I love the fact that Kayla looks like a little girl in this dress. The young ladies are looking/dressing much older than their ages.

Your dress turned skirt turned out so cute. Kayla's dress is adorable! I actually touched my sewing machine this week end...moved it from one table to another..lol

You and Kayla look so cute in your outfits!! She is looking more and more like a little you! :)

Very cute dress for Kayla. Also making lemonade out of lemons with the dress to a skirt was super smart. I like the outcome.

I love your Lol attitude and the skirt and breezy sewing mood toward all the other patterns.

Adrienne,
I love, love Kayla's dress-pure innocence.
You must make the sun hat to match.

Both your dresses are cute.
I thought of Love and Basketball when I saw your daughter in that dress. LOL.

I'm so glad you shared your faux paux, because it can get mundane (sp?) always seeing perfection. I share stuff I didn't like, and I really appreciate when others do, it is so helpful. I'm glad you found a way to salvage the fabric. The skirt turned out adorable.

love those shoes!!!!! the skirt is ccute, too, but I LOVE THOSE SHOES!!!!!
