Simplicity 3536
This was another quick and easy top I made the other day.
Pattern Description:
Misses Knit Tops
Pattern Sizing:
12-20
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn't use them.
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really liked this pattern. The bodice is lined with the same fabric
that the shirt is made of and I had trouble getting it to lay flat.
Total user error. I'll have to figure out a way to fix that next time I
use this type of fabric. I'm still learning ![]()
Fabric Used:
Jersey mesh that I have fallen in love with from Hancock lol
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
None
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I don't think I will make this one again but I do recommend it.
Conclusion:
Great pattern!
I just finished a cute little pencil skirt and I'm working on a top to wear with it. I HOPE to have that one finished in a few days or so. I love sewing, and I love that I am still learning. I mess up, and keep trying. :-)
Have you guys ever used this stuff???
My mom and I picked some up when we were in Hancock the other day and I totally love it. Now, I'm not sure if you are "SUPPOSED" to use startch on your clothes when you iron them or not but I do and I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE this stuff!!!! I will have to pick up some more next time I'm in Hancock so I won't run out lol.
How do y'all clean your iron?? I have a gravity feed if that matters. I have used the fautless hot iron cleaner and it still won't come clean. Any tips or suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!!
Ok, that is all I have for today! I will post my Layouts soon!! Probably Thursday so YAY! LOL
Y'all have a superb day!
Toodles

I use to use a lavendar scented ironing spray and loved it. I will have to check that one out, because they stopped making the other one. Your top and hair are adorable. I use vinegar and baking soda. I make a paste out of it and smear it on a cold iron and let it sit. When it's dry I take a wet rag and rub it off, it usually works really well, even with stubborn areas, but you may have to do it a few times. I'm a really natural girl, no perms, or chemicals for my family whenever I can help it. Good luck!

You can clean your iron with fingernail polish on a cotton ball. That tip was in one of my Sewing with Nancy Books.

Glad it worked for you, mom gets the credit for that one. I learn that many year ago when I used her old gravity feed iron on fusible innerfacing and had it upside down:)

Lovely top. As for cleaning my iron, I use a candle on it while the iron is hot and wipe with a cloth.
