This was another quick and easy top I made the other day.

Were the instructions easy to follow?
I didn't use them.

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I really liked this pattern. The bodice is lined with the same fabric that the shirt is made of and I had trouble getting it to lay flat. Total user error. I'll have to figure out a way to fix that next time I use this type of fabric. I'm still learning

Jersey mesh that I have fallen in love with from Hancock lol

None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
I don't think I will make this one again but I do recommend it.

Conclusion:
Great pattern!

I just finished a cute little pencil skirt and I'm working on a top to wear with it. I HOPE to have that one finished in a few days or so. I love sewing, and I love that I am still learning. I mess up, and keep trying. :-)

Have you guys ever used this stuff???

 

My mom and I picked some up when we were in Hancock the other day and I totally love it. Now, I'm not sure if you are "SUPPOSED" to use startch on your clothes when you iron them or not but I do and I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEE this stuff!!!! I will have to pick up some more next time I'm in Hancock so I won't run out lol.

How do y'all clean your iron?? I have a gravity feed if that matters. I have used the fautless hot iron cleaner and it still won't come clean. Any tips or suggestions are GREATLY appreciated!!

It's MONDAY!!!!!

Did you guys have a good weekend!??! I did!!

My dad and uncle went fishing and won 2nd place in some kinda tournament....

I swear fresh bass is the best fish....yummyyyyyyyyyy

I gotta learn to make this!!!! It was Tilipa with some kinda sauce and spinach..so good.



And yep we ate all of it lol. Well most of it lol. I can finally eat without throwing up....I can only eat like once a day. I have only been able to keep down fruit, applesauce and starchy stuff. THEN I can eat one meal and I'm good. I will be glad when I get over this because I love to eat. Seriously. I did forget to take our pic together though...oops lol

My aunt and uncle...Isn't my aunt looking like Easter Sunday!? LOL I love her hat.

Kayla was just a wee bit upset because she didn't get a chance to get in the candy bag after church lol.

I have been sewing and scrapping up a storm. Green gable is about 96% done lol. I'm FINALLY ready to bind off and do the sleeves. Who KNOWS when it will actually happen! LOL

A little over a year ago I fell in love with these two tunics:

Emilio Pucci batwing tunic

Roberto Cavalli chiffon mini dress.

By looking at the names you can already assume I wasn't going to pay their prices for this simple top lol.

I was unsure of which view to go with so I ended up doing C with the round neck.

 

I have had this cut out and ready to sew for A YEAR!!!! LOL  I'm SO glad I made this! I started on it LATE Friday night and then put it up and finished it Saturday right before a great dinner date with my hubby! It was perfect!!

Pattern Description:
MISSES’ AND WOMEN’S TUNICS AND BELT: Very loose fitting tunic has topstitched seams and neck edge variations; tunics B, C have side seam openings and belt.

Pattern Sizing:
8-16 I made the 10

Loved this pattern.

I doubt if I would make this again but I HIGHLY recommend it to others!

This was such a great pattern and so stylish for spring!

Hump Day Ramblings....

• For some reason, towels in my house get dirty VERY fast.

• I am SO FREAKING SERIOUSLY ADDICTED TO LWORD!!! I only watched a couple episodes here and there when it was on but NOW!?!? Goodness...I am  on season three.

• I am having sinus trouble for the first time in my life. I was on my ass the other day. HATE IT.

• I CAN'T WAIT TO WATCH IN THE MOTHERHOOD TOMORROW!! Virginia told me about this a while back and I loved watching online. Can't wait lol.

• I hate to see people smoking around kids. Idiots.

• We pulled up in my driveway the other night and I was scared shitless. I thought someone was in the house. It was my dressform.

• My children have an advocate. *ahem*

• I hate it when people say they haven't heard from you in a while. Ummm If you have their number, 9 times out of 10 they have yours too.

• I ADORE the reese peanut butter commercial with the bunny lol.

• I hate it when you are driving and as SOON as you come to the red light and stop it turns green.

• I would rather piss myself than use the bathroom at some peoples houses. EWWWW

• I do NOT like pigeons. AT ALL.

• I love the old navy commercial with the mannequins. HILARIOUS.

• Doing gathers and slipstitches sucks money balls.

• I want to watch Grease.

• The kids want me to cook lunch at their school O_o.

• I forgot to take Kayla and Aj to school yesterday..well almost. They were so quiet in the back seat that I forgot they were back there. Thankfully I saw them before I hit the interstate lol.

• This sinus crap is for the damn birds. just UGH.

• I planted some herbs for the first time ever. We will see how this goes lol.

• I cooked roast with potato and carrots, mac and cheese, cabbage, cornbread and corn and couldn't eat. THAT SUCKS!

Snoop Shopping.....

The other day Carolyn did a post on Snoop Shopping. I did that very thing last week looking for capri pants, guachos and shorts.

Now this whole sewing thing has been so trial and error for me. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I learn with each garment and I think I get better with each garment.

I STILL mess up. I still pick the wrong fabric and patterns and I still waste my time on some projects lol.

I am STILL learning what looks good on me. Some stuff I KNOW what works...some things I don't lol.

I am SO glad I sew. SO GLAD SO GLAD SO GLAD LOL.

It is the season for guachos, capri pants and shorts. Ahhhhhhh I set out to one of my favorite stores to try some on...

Now, ya'll know I tell the good, and the not so good so ummm yeah lol.

I took several different styles, cuts, lengths into the dressing room. If you have a friend you can trust to tell you the TRUTH about how something looks on you take them with you...JUST incase you need a second opinion. I don't know about you but sometimes it's hard to see yourself. 

WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG LOL

First of all they are too small (didn't have my size) and I hate the cut.

WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! This  is SO not cute on me.

 EWWW. I don't know WHY they didn't have my size in a lot of stuff I tried on so I had to get the one that was close to my size. I do love the length.

*DING DING DING* We finally have a winner. I LOVE everything about these....I actually bought them lol. First time I have bought something RTW in a WHILE. I will use these against my pattern when I make mine!!

I also look at the way things are made. I LOVE how they played with the stripes!  Fell in love with these.

 

There was also this lightweight demin pair that I LOVED...I wanna do a pocket like this. I think it is so cute!

 

I know it's just a pocket with some gathering on it but I still thought it was cute lol.

ALSO.... Sheri did a post on fabric and yarn snobs....are you one?!?!?

I generally just buy what feels good against my skin. If it doesn't feel good, I don't buy it. I could care less what the fiber content is, as long as it doesn't irritate my skin....I'm good.  That goes for both yarn and fabric.

Are ya'll fabric/yarn snobs?

Ok, that's all i've got...guess that's enough huh? lol

What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? I loved the pattern.

 

Fabric Used: Rayon Jersey from Gorgeous Fabrics

Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: None

Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I doubt if I sew this one again, but I do recommend it. There is a LOT of hand sewing.

All of the facings are handstitched.

I don't know if you can tell from the photo but I couldn't get the front facing to lay flat. Any tips on how I can correct that?!?!
 I LOVEEEEEEEEE the pleats on this dress. I didn't know it had them until I cut the pattern out. There are also a LOT of gathering:
 

Conclusion: This is a great pattern and I am sure I will get a lot of wear out of it this spring/summer season.

Hump Day Ramblings....

• I found a new purse and wallet! yay me!

• Do shoes and your purse have to match?

• What about belt, shoes, purse?!? I've been seeing some interesting stuff and wanna know how y'all feel about it.

• I umm "misplaced" a pattern and the fabric I was going to make it out of. I have NO idea where it is.

• I don't have a drop of scrapping mojo.

• I do have knitting mojo out the wazoo, even though Im bored with my current project...

• Sewing mojo is getting there.

• I broke my two favorite baking dishes last week. I have to replace them. They were the perfect size for my large family. :-(

• Aj asked me if he could wear some cologne to school O_o

• Some days I feel like I could cry at the drop of a hat. Those are the days that I assume I would be on my cycle if I had one.

• Planning trips makes  me happy even if they are a little ways away lol.

• I STILL can't find that fabric and the pattern! I mean all my other fabric and patterns are in the SAME spot....WHERE is it!? ugh.

• I thought I threw away my Blackberry box but I still have it! YAY!!! I think I'm going to sell my phone on ebay and upgrade!

• My inspiration board is turning into my don't forget about what the kids have going on board. GOTTA fix that ASAP.

• I helped watched Tony clean out our cabinets. It's all organized now lol.

• I can't spell without spell check lol. SUE ME lol.

• I found the damn fabric! I feel like such an ass. When I tell you I tore up my house looking for it....like my momma said...if it was a snake it would have bit me ;-)

• I'm craving chinese kitchen.

• My dreams have been OFF-THE-DAMN-CHAIN lately but not when I'm sleep for the night....when I take a nap lol.

• 100% is hard and not always worth it.

• If you text when you are asleep you don't have NO room to talk about my phone/internet issues lol. That is all.

• If you sit your phone TOO close to the iron and then pick it up, it WILL be hot!

• I do NOT like to wait. AT ALL. That's all.

Y'all know this is one of my FAVORITE patterns right!??! I have retired it...for now lol. I might pull it back out again this fall lol.

Butterick 5316- view a this is my most favorite fabric ever! Hoping that it looks good on me lol.

Simplicity 3803 view a- I made this before in a lightweight demin and LOVED IT! I knew I wanted another maxi dress this season and this print is just fab for it!

Hump Day Ramblings....

• Project 36-what? LOL Yeah...that has gone by the wayside lol. I tried lol

• I am really starting to love these random posts. I've done them BEFORE but they are more fun now lol. It's really fun to read through them again lol.

• Do y'all read your old blog entries!?!?

• I used to hate buying tires. What I used to pay for one tire on my  Benz I can now buy a whole set Crazy huh? I do miss my car sometimes though. NOT the upkeep lol.

• I HATE when I have to merge on the interstate next to a 18 wheeler. UGH. I cringe and I want to close my eyes but I know I can't do that when driving. **heebe jeebies**

• HOT FRESH Krispy Kreme Donuts, four boxes of girl scout cookies and homemade pralines made it inside my house within THREE days of each other. Folks just trying to make sure I am not looking superbly fantastic in a few months. Umm hmm I see you. lol

• You can ask me questions ALL day long, but that doesn't mean I have to answer you.

• Sometimes it's hard for me to sit down and do NOTHING. I love to stay busy but sometimes you just have to sit yo azz down.

• Laundry is NEVER done in my house lol. As SOON as the basket is empty...it's time to do it all over again. I think I do laundry every couple of days. Once a week does NOT work over here.

• I am NOT perfect in all my crafts. I make mistakes. Bad pattern/fabric combo's. And just plain why in the WORLD did I make that. I'm learning. I'm no expert, I don't use or know ALL the technical terms when it comes to sewing nor do I pretend to.  Now PHOTOGRAPHY....we can get technical lol.

• Tony helped me do my hair the other day. It was so sweet  lol.

• Do ya'll watch Clean House!? I mean some of these houses are WOW lol.

• Running in Heels is great! I love reality tv!

• I hate going to the doctor and I still get nervous when it is checkup time. Cancer is a scary thing.

• WHY do I remember turning 30 but not 31????

• I need a new large black purse. Something nice, but not over priced.

• I don't like to see little girls in black stockings (pantyhose) lol.

• I don't like to see grown women in white stockings. AT ALL.

• Momma said Fantasia needs to sing gospel lol.

• It has been SO hard for me to get up in the mornings lol. VERY HARD!

• I sing all day long lol. Really I do lol.

• I seriously LOVE MY JOB!!! I really do. I really enjoy my co-workers too! Except the one I cussed out. Funny part? SHE got wrote up because she provoked me lol. THAT was funny. LOL

*Sigh* since spring/summer make folks want to wear less clothes and it is RIGHT around the corner...I bring you GTFOOH Episode 5.

I took this picture at the park on Saturday...

I tried to get a better shot but it wasn't working.

FIRST of all....WHY her boobies gotta be on her waist? They DO make bras for that.

SECOND...EVERYBODY can't wear high waist stuff.

THIRD...what is the point of the suspenders on here? I mean you can't really see them in the pic, but she has on suspenders....AND that white shirt she has on is NOT a tank top. She has on an "A" shirt. Ummm hmmm.

I'm no fashion expert, and I've made some fashion mistakes, but I would NEVER leave my house looking like this.

She was pooped lol. I knit during this whole time. We were out there FOREVER. HOpefully I'll finish my top at the track meet this week lol.

I LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE this shirt!!!!!

This pattern was wonderful! This was my first button down shirt with buttonholes. I've done a button down before but it had loops and not buttonholes. I made this shirt before when I first started sewing but never finished it because I was afraid of the buttonholes lol. How many times did I say buttonholes?! LOL

•  Fuck you. Sometimes I hate people. Not all people, but certain folks just make me sick. ugh.

• My filter doesn't work often anymore. I still try though. Sometimes.

• I used to have a HALO...not sure when I lost it but that bytch is GONE lol. Ohhhh wait. Now I remember lol. Neva mind lol.

• I seriously want the new Black Berry Curve 8900. Seriously. It's not time for an upgrade and I don't know if I want it bad enough to pay full price for it. I'm considering it though. My curve is in damn near new condition so I MIGHT sell it on ebay to offset the cost.

• I'm still in people purge mode.  Y'all already know I believe some folks are in your life for a season only. Some folks season is gone lol.

• I think the IPOD is the best invention ever.

• Why is it that I don't use my earpiece when I am driving but when I'm at home doing stuff?! LOL

• I am SO in love with wrap dresses. I love Diane von Furstenberg! I see a few more wrap dresses in my VERY near future!

• I'm glad February is over. I plan on making March my relax and chill out month. April will be busy as hell.

• My husband made me a VERY happy woman the other night. I watered the seed and now it has BLOOMED lol.

• *sings* Do you remember....the 21st night of September.

• Someone told me the other day that a woman with grown children who is STILL a SAHM is lazy.  I wish ya'll could have seen the look on my face or better yet the look on hers when I got through with her.

• Twitter is addictive and I am on it ALL DAY EVERYDAY. Well most days.

• I like facebook but not as much as twitter.

• I want some skittles. BAD.

• I FINALLY got back in the swing of working out again. I swear that trip to New Orleans messed me up lol. Took me a full two weeks to get back to the swing of things.

• I did something the other day that I have never ever done before and I really loved it. Like really.

• I can't believe daylight savings time begins on Sunday. My kids are sooooo happy about it. I am too.

• I just heard the today show come on and that means it's time for me to leave but I had to send an email first.
• Ok...that's all I got lol.

Ramblings, Target Love and a necklace.....

• Shrimp Fried Rice ALWAYS tastes better the next day!!!

• WHY do schools have PTA meetings the SAME NIGHT? And start them at the SAME TIME!?!??! That makes NO sense. My kids are NOT all in the same school.

• If I had a clone, I would do all the good fun stuff, and the clone would do all the stuff I hate doing.

• WHY do people keep loaning folks money when they KNOW they aren't going to pay them back? That makes YOU stupid.

• SOME days, I do NOT like the sound of my kids voices. ESPECIALLY when they are calling my name! Leave me alone. PLEASE.

• Power naps make EVERYTHING OKAY!!!

• I made my very first buttonhole, button down shirt and I LOVE IT! I have made a button down before but it was with loops instead of buttonholes! YAY!

• Fresh fruit is SO good late at night but too much pineapple will have your mouth raw!

• Kayla went to sleep with all her clothes on last week. I LET HER SLEEP! LOL

• WHY are people offended when you don't comment on their blog..talking bout, I saw you comment on some else blog.. WTF? It is NOT that deep. Quit sending me stupid email. Everything isn't interesting to EVERYONE. That is all.

• HOW hard is it to replace the toilet tissue roll!??!

• Before you get out of the car. PUT IT IN PARK. UGH. Mad at my.damn.self.

• Umm why do I text and email the same person at the same time? LIke I will carry on a convo with one person via text and email. I guess I'm crazy, but they are too because they do the same thing! LOL

Target will be the DEATH of me! I swear it lol.

Y'all KNOW when I get hooked on something...I GET HOOKED and I stock up so when it's no longer being made, I will HAVE MINE! LOL

I fell in LOVE with oils when I went to visit Stacey last year. OMG...I ordered so much stuff from body shop (since we no longer have it here) and have since been trying new things.

 TARGET! LAWD

They have SOOOOOO many good smelling oils!!! I have a lot of them, but I only get like the clean or semi fruity fragrances. NOT TOO FRUITY or it will make me sick on my stomach.

These candles and these oils work SO WELL TOGETHER!!!!!

I REFUSE to admit to how many of these candles I have since they are seasonal! LOL

I am SO glad I don't pick hobbies, then I'm fascinated with them for a few minutes, then they are gone by the wayside  lol.
I really do enjoy beading! I will do it more now that it is about to warm up. I find it really soothing!

Ahhhhh Happy Monday!!

Did you guys have a good weekend?

Did you get any snow!? As you can see we enjoyed our "dust" lol

I am SO glad it is March! I plan to chill most of the month lol. February is always a busy month for us lol.

We had Jaelyn's birthday party Saturday night and they all had a great time!!!

The kids had a great time! There was another room set up like a "club" so it was wayyyy too dark to take pics, but with all the loud music and kids screaming and dancing...yeah I didnt want to go in there anyway lol. Tony and Patrick posted up to make sure the guys were on their BEST behavior lol. It was SO funny lol.

 

And her favorite gift of the night?!?! LOL

 

She had a sleep over but I was so tired when we got home,I forgot to take pics! LOL
