Sewing Ramblings and a couple of reviews lol

• Organizing my sewing notions is a wonderful thing to do.
• I never need another piece of tracing paper lol. EVER.
• I have MORE than my fair share of FOE and have only used it once lol.
• I don't know WHAT I was planning on making that made me buy 5 boxes of extra large eyelets.
• I have YET to make my duvet cover and my curtains for my bedroom, kitchen and dining room. That will be done soon. I have had the fabric for almost two years, good thing I've showed you guys the fabric already lol.
• I obviously like to buy pretty buttons when they are on sale lol.
• I don't like to use bobbins that don't say Singer. Don't know why lol.
• I have 13 white invisible zippers, 3 black invisible zipper, 2 ivory invisible zippers, 5 all purpose zippers and 2 zippers for jeans. Yet I ALWAYS seem to buy one when I'm working on a project that calls for one lol.

Do I even need to do a review on this dress? LOL I've made it twice already lol HERE and HERE. My last fabric choice was less than desirable for this dress, but it is what it is...a lesson learned lol. I'm not above messing up good fabric lol.

I LOVE this dress. I guess I can call this my TNT lol. I still want it in black lol.....

Pattern Description: Tops A, B, C have front gathers, lapped upper front and self faced band with topstitching. B: contrast bands. C: three-quarter length sleeve. I made view B Pattern Sizing: 8-16 Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it? Yes Were the instructions easy to follow? Yes What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern? The pattern was pretty basic. Fabric Used: Cotton Lycra from Spandex House Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made: None Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others? I don't think I would sew this again but I highly recommend it. Conclusion: Pretty great wardrobe building pattern. I needed some new casual tops and this one fit the bill. Excuse the blurry pic and my hair lol. Humidity is NOT my friend lol.

The home decor bug has BIT ME! lol

I don't know if it is that time of year or WHAT but I am in a decorating mood!!!

I don't know what it is but I have fallen IN LOVE with Fleur-de-lis. I am thinking it was my recent trip to New Orleans lol

I hope to have these pieces up this week. I have two of the top ones and they will go on either side of my window lol.

I am PROBABLY going to redecorate the entire house, but I will do it one room at a time lol.

The dining room is obviously first lol.

I need a new ceiling fan, and there is some UGLY wallpaper boarder that I am going to take down and repaint the wall, but it will be the same eggshell that the walls already are.

I want some new switch plate and plug covers(when I painted I got umm lazy and painted on them lol) and I am going to make some curtains and get a pretty new curtain rod and I THINK we will be done in there lol.

Next up will be my bedroom.

LAWD, I have had THIS fabric wanting to make a duvet cover for my  bed for THE LONGEST. It WILL get made during the month of March. I won't even attempt to start on it now lol. I KNOW I won't do it lol.

These fabric will make accent pillows and something else. I have more of it but I can't find what I originally wanted to do with it so ummmm gonna have to figure that out lol. The color looks off but it matches really well.

This crinkly fabric will be for my windows....

Next will be my den/family room or whatever you want to call it downstairs lol.

I have those FUGLY wood panel walls that are OH SO 1970-ish and all of that is getting re-done. That will be in April.  Soooo I am going to make some more throw pillows for my sofa and some new curtains...

And  I THINK that is all lol. For now anyway! I do have some reviews to do....about 5 or 6 so I'll get those done soon. I have been sewing lol. Just haven't reviewed anything yet AND making plans for spring garment sewing lol.

Weekend Wrapup....

I don't know WHY I can't seem to do these posts on Monday's lol. Seems like it is ALWAYS a Tuesday!! LOL

ANYWAY LOL

I decided VERY last minute to do a 5K Run/ FUnwalk with my mom. WHEEWWW. I did NOT condition myself like the last time. Trust me when I tell you I PAID FOR IT lol. I finished in 46 minutes lol. NOT BAD...but I had fun lol.

Kayla tried to keep up with me but ummm...nerp lol

There was a live band there to keep the runner/walkers motivated and I asked them to say Happy Birthday to Jaelyn lol...She was like mommmm how did they know! LOL

Jaelyn couldn't decide if she wanted me to cook her a bday dinner or if she wanted to go out...once she FINALLY decided what she wanted we headed over to O'Charley's lol.

Sunday we hopped in the car and took a wee drive up to the Space and Rocket Center in Huntsville

The kids have never been and Tony and I haven't been in YEARS soooo off we went lol

I loved watching Aj read about everything! Especially when he got to the big words he didn't understand. He would try and sound it out then ask for help. :-)

All in all it was a great weekend! LOL

Now, Im trying to get back in the swing of things! LOL This month has been ubber busy and it's not even over yet! LOL

I had an INSTANT headache when I saw this!!!

We have a family plan....on that family plan we ALL have unlimited text messages.

WHY did these fools charge me for Jaelyn's text messages!!!?!?

My bill is only supposed to be between $130-150 for all three phones.  It should NEVER look like this.

Talk about pissed! I just wanted to log in and pay my bill. I did NOT expect to see this.

After almost an hour on the phone and SEVERAL different reps, I FINALLY got the charges taken off.

Seems like there is some kinda glitch with Jaelyn's phone and they have to manually remove the charges.

You BEST believe ya girl will be on top of this!

I got stuff to do. I need to be sleep but I'm up fooling round with these idiots.

WORK IN PROGRESS

That really is what I am. A work in progress.

I don't know what has been going on with me and my mindset lately. Things are just DIFFERENT for me. I think it's called GROWTH lol.

Stuff that used to piss me off. It doesn't phase me anymore.

People that I used to want to associate with, I don't want to be around them or anyone remotely like them anymore. I've learned that everybody that "claim" to be real, really ain't. They want you to think they are one thing when they are REALLY something else. Glad I love just being me lol. FLAWS AND ALL.

People that are just down right negative....they are gone from my life. ESPECIALLY those in internet land. I have taken people off my twitter (WHICH I AM TRULY ADDICTED TO :-)) off facebook, out of my google reader. Just GONE. Deleted email addresses lol...well I guess you get the point.

I  have learned and I'm still learning that some people come into your life for a reason and a season. Once they have done what they need to do in your life, be it good or not so good. They leave.

Now don't start scratching your head trying to figure out who is gone from my life lol. It's no one in particular, but just in general lol.

You start out being really great friends with someone, then slowly ya'll start to drift apart. Being human the first thing you might think (or what I might think lol) is dang...what did I do to upset them? It's not you. It's just their time to leave your life. Hopefully whatever purpose they were supposed to serve, they did just that and you learned whatever lesson you were supposed to learn from them.

So don't stress over it. Move on. That's what I had to learn to do.

Some things I have never noticed before are taking front and center in my life. Things I've never even thought about.

It's like I'm elvoving. Changing, but all in a good way.  I dunno.... I guess I'm just rambling lol.

I love the person I am becoming.

A better wife.
A better mother.
A better friend.
A better sister.
A better daughter.
A better person.

I can see the change in my attitude. I can see the change in the way I think. I can see the change in the way I feel about things.

Y'all I have more patience lol. THAT is a wonderful, wonderful thing.

GTFOOH Episode 4

OOOOOOOOOOK, during my first couple of weeks at work, I saw this girl, she was walking through my department just looking. Kinda leaned over the top of the buggy. I passed her, smiled and continued to do what I was doing. WELL....I passed her AGAIN and I heard plastic, but only saw a couple things in her buggy.

Hmmmm

My spidey sense went off. I casually walked by her again (I was putting up some product) and she asked about something and I showed her. I caught a peek of what was in her bag...OMG.

I went to a diff dept, but REALLY quickly and called for my manager. I told them what she looked like and what she was wearing. They met her at the door as she was TRYING to leave out.

• It's safe to say ya'll like the ramblings huh? LOL

• I will post these once a week....MAYBE lol.

• I'm FINALLY finished planning Jaelyn's bday party on the 28th. YAY. Today is Feb. 5 lol. (I type these out during the week lol)

• Jaelyn is PICKY. Wonder where she get's that from. *whistles*

• Why don't people get pedicures in the winter? Don't your feet still need to look cute when it's cold? MINE DO! LOL

• I just noticed that I have like 6 spools of red thread. I don't know why.

• When do I need to mail these invites out? My mom said a week before, I say two weeks...Like mail them them this week. Maybe Friday?
• I REALLY don't know what to get Jaelyn for her bday. She is a good child, does great in school, doesn't give me too many problems outside of a little "attitude". Hmmm
• OMG, I AM ABOUT TO HAVE A TEENAGER IN MY HOUSE. OMG. *WIPES TEARS*

• I have the best little close circle of friends.

• When I think about how blessed I really am, I get a little teary eyed.

• I stayed up until after 3am on the phone and sewing. Had a good time lol.

• Sour Cream and cheddar chips are my favorite.
• Kayla was sick over the weekend with a fever and just the ick, but she is better now.
• I love fresh fruit.
• My sewing mojo is on overdrive.
• I had one bad project that I threw in the trash lol.
• J Hud did WONDERFULLY last night! LOVE HER!

I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ready to wear my heels and toes out!!! LOL

I went looking for a certain kind of shoe yesterday and saw this:

Not EVEN what I was looking for but, HOW FREAKING HOT IS THIS DAMN SHOE!?!? The store had it in nude. I was *THIS* close to getting it but decided to wait and HOPE that I could find it in black. I LOVE a nude shoe, and I have one or two?? lol  but I would get a TON more wear out of black. These babies will be here SOON! YAY!!

BCBG is normally my favorite shoe designer but I have been really disappointed with their stuff as of late.

While on the subject of shoes....I bought these boots a while back...got a REALLY good deal. My problem? I don't know what to wear them with. Now I think I dress pretty well but these light colored boots have me baffled. How should I wear these!? Should I have them dyed....like chocolate brown. Hmmm they are suede. Anyone have any experience with that? I might run them over to the shoe man today.

I went to one of my LYS and picked up some yarn for a NEW Green Gable. I will NOT be defeated! LOL

 

Ohhhh isn't it purrrttttyyyyy. I tell you what...the colors online and the colors IRL are VERY different! This stuff is SUPER vibrant online. But it's still pretty lol. I took some pics inside the yarn store but they are on my other camera and it's upstairs so I will have to upload those later lol.

ME? I plan on sitting behind my machines until I just can't take it anymore lol.

 

My serger is doing something funny. I started a thread on Pattern Review...if you guys have any insight...can you let me know? I've tried everything they suggested on the thread and STILL the same issue. I will be at Singer FIRST thing in the morning.

• Why is it that people continue to contact you when you have SPECIFICALLY asked that they not?

• I am 31 years old.  WHY are my cheeks breaking out?! UGH
• I love scheduling posts on typepad. What I hate is forgetting to take them out of draft mode lol. Yeah I'm crazy lol.

• Hmm, I blog a lot huh? But I really enjoy it! LOL
  

• I love being on time. I wish other people were the same way.

• I have I don't give a fuck syndrome. Seriously. I don't have time.

• I don't TRY to hurt peoples feelings. I'm just not going to tip toe around the truth. I'll tell you the truth NICELY.

• I cleaned off my Ipod and now I have around 2000 songs. I want more lol.

• I LOVE Jamie Foxx new song!!! That man has much swag to me...whew chile.

• I don't want to cook today.

• I don't like making HUGE decisions. I put it off as LONG as possible...like LAST minute. I'm in the 11th hour and NEED to make a decision. I don't know what to do. PRAY and WAIT. Is where I am right now.

• I really want to see Brian McKnight in concert. LIKE REALLY. But I can't.

• Dictionary.com is the bomb. LOL I love how it will pronounce the word lol.

• I am going to have a complete fit if I don't organize my sewing notions soon. They are a total MESS!

• I did something I have been wanting to do for the past TWO years and now I feel free. It's amazing.

• I don't like feeling OBLIGATED to do something.  My dad would say he ain't GOT to do shit but stay black and die lol. I have to remember not to say "you have to" to him lol. He will QUICKLY remind me that he ain't got to do shit lol.

• I love my parents.

• I have been playing with my beads! WOO HOOO!  I thought I had forgotten how to make a necklace. I'm good.

• I am REALLY loving my job! Seriously! And I have the best hours ever lol. I've out shined some of the old heads there but hey, I have a great work ethic and I like things done the RIGHT way. Work SMARTER not harder lol.

• I still laugh when I think about Green Gable in the trash can lol. That was funny! I swear that yarn had bad juju lol. The pic I took was NOT internet friendly. Only those I trust got to see a pic of me in that lol. Nude bra and the flash from my camera?! LOL Not a good look lol. Everything don't belong on the WWW lol.

• I am SO IN LOVE WITH LOST THIS SEASON!!!!!!!!

• Bridewars was hilarious and I almost cried. ALMOST ;-)

• TAKEN IS SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD.!! LIKE FANTASTIC GOOD!! SERIOUSLY! ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT GOOD!!!

• Notorious was pretty good. Tony said he didn't want to see it because they weren't telling the truth. It was a GOOD story lol.

Woooo Hoooo! It's MONDAY!!!!

I LOVE Monday's!!!! I have a list of things I need to get accomplished this week so I will be BUSY.

Let me go ahead and break the news....remember green gable that was knitting up oh so lovely? LOL

I threw it in the trash. WHY?

LAWD! I tried it on once I separated the sleeves and never did look in the mirror. Just kinda looked down, saw it fit and took it off and kept knitting.

WELL I was ALMOST finished with it (was knitting for length) and I decide to try it on again and send a pic to Patrice. LAWD when I saw it on me!??! The lace section was just JACKED UP! It didn't continue all the way over to the right side. When I say I BAWLED!?? I didn't notice it was messed up until I looked at it on me lol.

I BAWLED!! I felt so bad. I just threw it away.

I do believe the yarn I used has bad juju lol. Remember when I tried to do Rusted Root a while back?? That was the yarn I used! I tried to do a couple other projects that did NOT turn out right lol. IT IS THE YARN!!! LOL

Imma get some more yarn and do it again, and it will NOT be red lol.

Thursday Night I went to Sips N Strokes yet again and had a blast! This time I talked my mom into going lol

 

She was all happy paying for her class lol

I got there early to make sure I could grab seats for all of us and I was surprised when I saw they already had us set up!

We REALLY had fun! My mom enjoyed all the ladies and the ladies enjoyed her. She kept cracking up about something or another lol. I finally got to meet Neecha and  Kisha was there too lol. Maybe now she will update her blog lol.

We aren't painting this month. We have something else planned lol. Wheew chile lol.

Jaelyn was also in a play Thursday night and Tony being the wonderful father he is, went and had a good time lol. Cheryl also sent me a couple pics since I wasn't there! YAY! LOL

Friday night I went to a book signing at Books A Million where the one and only E. Lynn Harris was there signing his new book!

 

He is REALLY silly lol.  I have hat hair so ya gotta excuse that lol.

 

And he was REALLY nice. He seemed sincere. It was fun meeting him!

While I waited in line, the kids played in the kids area and picked out some new books.

 

 

 

Jaelyn actually started on her book while we were there and finished it on Saturday. I guess it was REALLY good lol.

Saturday my mom and I took the girls shopping.  *sigh*

 

 

I HATE CLAI.RE'S. SERIOUSLY.

But the girls loved it and I guess that is all that matters lol.

We also went to Fore.ve.r 21 and a few other stores and they really had a good time.

Mom and I went to Hancock too. I actually purchased some spring fabric! It was strange buying fabric but I can get used to it again lol.

Sunday was our Anniversary/Superbowl party lol. We had a house full and SO MUCH FUN! LOL

 

Verdi is soooo good to me lol. And that was NOT all of it lol.

 

Gotta love the budlight. Too bad I don't drink beer. And we had regular BL, but there wasn't enough room for everything in my fridge lol, and my fridge is kinda on the large size I think lol.

Yep that is Kool-aid for the kids. It's not gonna kill 'em lol.

 

Tony was handling that grill! LOL

Y'all see that apron? He made that in the 10th grade lol. He STILL wears it when he cooks lol.

 

He kilt it lol. I did the inside cooking stuff, he did the outside lol.

And since it was our anniversary I made him a red velvet cake. I make it for him every year lol.

It's gone lol.

Along with all the food and drink lol.

How about a few Anniversaries of the past? LOL

2008 We had a really great time on our first cruise together! 11 years is a LONG time to be married!!! CELEBRATE!!!

2007 We started a tradition this year for our anniversary. Going on a Trip EVERY year without the kids. We kicked it off with THIS TRIP. Our schedules were so crazy in Feb that we couldn't go until April! LOL We NEVER went on a honeymoon. We got married so young, and Jaelyn was almost a year old lol. We just couldn't afford it. Time is a wonderful thing! LOL

2006 Look at those pics! We look SOOOO young lol. I guess we were huh?

WE HAVE BEEN MARRIED 12 YEARS TODAY.

 It hasn't been easy but it's been worth it.

Marriage is work. You get out what you put in.

I'm no expert and Lord KNOWS I have made many mistakes, but I have learned from them.

We are closer now than we have ever been.

We both still have issues but hey...that comes with it lol.

Some days I want to be all up under him and don't want to give him room to breathe.

Some days I want to choke the shit out of him, as I am SURE he has days he wants to strangle me! LOL

I love him. He is mine. He loves me. I am his. FLAWS AND ALL.

I can't wait to spend the rest of my days with this man.
