Just don't know what to say... OBAMA 08!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that you have been warned...let's get started...
Imagine my surprise, when I am given not one but TWO blue boxes from Tiffany & Co (yes I HAD to play with the color on it lol)
Tears start forming as my husband tells me the reason behind the gift...it's JUST BECAUSE....
He got MAD points for that one. It's not even the gift, it was his words that touched me the most. Been through a lot but growth is the BOMB!
Ok, moving on....
FINALLY my entry into the Pattern Review Mini Wardrobe Contest!!
Let's start the reviews:
Pattern Description:
Fitted top has cutaway armhole, front loop and button closing and
single layered, tiered collars, forming cascading ruffles on front
opening.
Pattern Sizing:
14-20
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
SUPER SIMPLE!!!!
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I LOVE this pattern! I SERIOUSLY want another one.
Fabric Used:
Challis
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
Instead of doing the narrow hem like they suggested, I used my rolled hem foot. LIFE SAVER!!!
I also wanted to jazz it up a bit with some cute buttons
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
YES! I really want to make this one again. I highly recommend this if you can find it.
Conclusion:
LOVELY pattern. Ruffles are SO hot right now...make one for yourself! :-)
Pattern Description:
Self drafted pencil skirt
I used Garbadine. This was really easy to do. Easier than I thought. I took apart a skirt that I have had for a LONG time and cut my fabric out accordingly. Here are a few additional pictures.
I didn't have any black thread for my serger, so I used black lace hem tape to cover the thread ;-)
Pattern Description:
Description: Slightly flared legged pants (semi-fitted through the hip) have below-waistline contour waistband with fly zipper closing, front and back welt pockets, back button loops and contrast waistband facing.
Pattern Sizing:
12-18
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
Yes
Were the instructions easy to follow?
They were good up until I got to the welt pockets. THey were crazy and confused the crap out of me. I finally gave up and did the back pockets just like the front. I forgot to take a pic lol, here is one of the front welt....
What did you particularly like or dislike about the pattern?
I LOVE the way these pants fit. I now know why everyone raves over this pattern.
Fabric Used:
Lightweight demin
Pattern Alterations or any design changes you made:
None
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
Yes, I don't EVER want to make a different pair of pants. I LOVE these!!!!!!!!! I want to make them in winter white ;-)
Conclusion:
FABULOUS pattern!!! I love it!!!!
And because I know someone will ask **ahem** :-)
And yes I love them lol.
And my necklace. I was PRAYING that my beads would get here in time...
Ok, that is all!!!! Hope you all have a fun, and safe happy holiday weekend!!!!
Toodles!

I know you're going to have a good weekend!
Take care!

Girl, you’re truly my Hero. I'm just amazed at your talent. I started reading your blog because of your scrapbooking talent and over the months you have left me speechless. I’ve been a crochet’r for years, but after watching your knitting talents I took a beginners class in March and now I love this as much as crocheting. I’ve already created two sweaters, two scarves and now working on my Talia vest. Next – taking a sock class. I’ve even joined Ravelry (because of you spreading the word). Now, I’m watching your journey with fabric and thread and now I want to pick up this hobby again that my mother and I shared when I was a child. Beading (I remember the stitch markers) and that necklace. GIRL, you can seriously case a person to file for bankruptcy. Thanks for sharing your journey in creativity and your life.

I like your taste in politics, clothes, shoes, and jewelry. Also, your hubbie has good taste (He sounds like a keeper!). Your mini wardrobe is WOW! Aren't you proud of it? I also had trouble following the instructions for the back pockets in V1051 and, finally, just did them my way.
Posted by: Rose | August 31, 2008 at 06:10 PM
You seriously must be one fierce and sexy (ahem) in those shoes and beads. I am taken away by the shirt, very nice. Although for my large self, I would need a much larger size. Ha. I wish I knew you well enough to be my true self, so I will be respectful and say girl.....tears came to my eyes about the Tiffany stuff. I get those every year from my husband and I don't know what it is about the Robin Blue box...but wow. I'm so happy for you and you are very blessed. Truly, truly wonderful.
