Yeah baby, its THROW BACK FRIDAY! LOL TGIF YA'LL!!! LOL. Ya'll know this song was the bomb! LOL.
So how was your week?? Mine was really good! Despite a few things that happened that were beyond my control! LOL
Go check out Diann's blog. She does a weekly link wrap up on Friday. You just may have missed something! LOL
So I have big news today....JAELYN GOT HER BRACES OFF YESTERDAY!!!! Check out some pics!
In the waiting room....lol
Just a "little" piece.....
And they are OFF! YEah baby...my teeth feel funny! LOL
This stuff is yucky....getting fitted for her retainer....I have promised to seriously hurt her if she looses it! lol
In other news.......
The new Knitty is out!
I really love the neckline of this one...
And this one....
Henry will make a great Christmas gift for my wonderful husband....
What is catching your eye?
Ok, my Fall Sewing 2007 is really getting off to a great start. I went to Hancock with Erica yesterday and picked up a few items.....

Butterick 5100. This is a really pretty poly knit. It has a really nice weight to it!
Butterick 5089 This coating fabric is SO nice. I love plaid. Since this will be my first time working with plaids, Erica suggested I get a bigger one so it wouldn't be so hard to match up. Un-matched plaid is very tacky. I've been reading up on it, so I'm hoping for a great outcome! I have some great books but here are some links I found helpful....
Success with Plaids and Stripes
Matching Plaids when making a jacket
It may be a little redundant but hopefully you can find something that works for you! :-)
This fabric I just picked up to stash until the perfect project comes along. It's a poly but it is SO soft. I mean it feels fantastic!
I also picked up these two patterns:
I'm getting some fabric from Ann from Gorgeous Things for this.....
and I got
I might do this one in a chocolate knit...similar in weight to the black knit I already have...not sure JUST yet.....
This piece of fabric I got from my mom's stash! LOL. It's only enough for a top, so a top it will become. I just have to find the perfect one...any suggestions???
Well that is it for me you guys! Hope you all have a great weekend! I am knitting!! Pics to come!
Toodles!
**KEITH SWEAT MAKE IT LAST FOREVER**

my daughter was estatic when she got her's off! alex had the tops too and we took a pic of them. she did and said the same thing jaelyn did.
lets hope she doesn't continue the theme and lose her retainer...
Posted by: stephanie | September 14, 2007 at 07:10 AM
arrrgh knitty is broke right now. and typepad ate my last post.
alex had the same top braces, and did the same thing jaelyn did when she got them off. we even yook a pic of them too. i hope jaelyn doesn't loose the retainer like alex did... makesure she keeps it in the case at all times, never putting it in a napkin... you are more inclined to trash it when in a napkin
Posted by: stephanie | September 14, 2007 at 07:14 AM
I have the Butterick pattern 5079 too! Maybe we can do a sew along! LOL! Good for Jaelyn and her braces. I can't wait to see what you make with the polka dot fabric from your mom's stash.

Congrats to Jaelyn and make her wear that retainer!! My mom never made me and my one tooth shifted back out... I have always regretted not wearing them! She looks so cute feeling her teeth for the first time too! :) (okay, I gotta say, they did make me talk so funny that wearing them at school was not an option, but I could've worn em at night ya' know!?!?!LOL) And... no baby yet... nothing happening... :(
Posted by: Jude | September 14, 2007 at 09:38 AM
oh get ready...I think we bought a total of 3 retainers!!!! I made her pay for the last one!!!
TGIF!!!

Your plaid tips come at a perfect time for me. I am sewing a plaid dress this weekend and will use all this advice! Keeping my fingers crossed it will all match up...
Posted by: Stephanie | September 14, 2007 at 10:00 AM
Do you think you have enough plaid links there?! *smile* You will do fine. I think the most helpful tip for sewing plaids is to cut each piece out separately so that you can carefully match the plaids - that and take your time! I am sure you will do fine especially since you have Erica close by to help!

Your daughter must be so happy that here braces are gone! Enjoy the weekend.

Congrats to your daughter on getting her braces off! I remember how great that was!!! I once threw my retainer out at Burger King and then had to getit out of the trash YUCK! I think I ran it through the dishwaser like 3 times before I'd wear it again!

Jaelyn's teeth look great! I am sure she is happy to have those braces off. And yeah, I bet those retainers cost an arm and a leg - I remember a few kids taking them out to eat and then throwing them out in the lunchroom garbage, then having to scavenger hunt through the garbage for them. I hate that stuff they take a mold of your teeth with - bleah. I had that done when I got trays made for my teeth to whiten them.
Posted by: Robin | September 14, 2007 at 04:57 PM
YAY for Jaelyn!!! Boy, you really got all up in there (her mouth) taking that last picture, didn't you? LOL
Posted by: Dawn Bibbs | September 14, 2007 at 06:00 PM
Thanks for the link love! I'm working on the Friday Night Highlights now.
Gotta' tell you--I met Keith Sweat when I worked at Parisian in Mobile. He was doing a concert there (which I went to and it was great) and he came by Parisian to pick up some stuff. This was probably in 1989 or 1990--I can't remember. He was very nice.
